We had the best of times at Selina! not only was the hotel pretty well kept, but also the staff was excelente. They were welcoming and helpfull through all of our stay. Yane (the receptionist) is the real best, along with Yoana, Evelyn and Martin. The hotel its pretty clean and has a good location for a relaxed time. Don’t freak out about staying in Bastimentos cause there are water taxis that can take you to Isla Colon. Also there are pretty good restaurants at Red Frog and Selinas food is also great!

The staff are very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and had lots of little extras. We had a beautiful balcony and very of the forest. So many activities and things to do but also a great spot to chill. Short 5 minute walk to the beach. At the time we stayed the beach bar was closed and the deck chairs were not in good condition so we had to rent chairs from next door. Food was okay, I would recommend bringing your own breakfast. We did also end up buying food in Palmar which is right on the beach, and they provide a free shuttle so factor that in.

Very happy overall though.

This is a good place to stay under any circumstances. They have a great bar and breakfast everyday for anybody that may be interested. They are reasonable and clean in all there rooms and their are towels for the purpose of going to the beach.

Hello , i am a big fan of selina Hostels, and have stayed in 5 hostels of this chain during my trip in the past month in costa rica and panama, but the experience i had at Selinas Red Frog was just sad.

■We arrived there at 2.45pm soaking wet, freezing , it was raining cats and dogs , and the reception staff would't allow us to check in into the room.
I get that if the beds need to be done , but not if no one is in there, beds are done and the customers are wet cause of the heavy rain fall.

■After checking in i noticed that my bed smelled like urin. Disgusting . They changed it straight away after i noticed them .

■Staff is rude, especially the ones at the reception

■The staff has asked two of my friends to write them a good review with their phone cause the upgraded them into a 6bed dorm .It's just ridicoulos.

■We ordered dinner from the menu , first of all it took them 45 min to bring it out , not to mention that we had to get it ourselves from the bar cause the staff didn't notice the food on the bar. The staff was to busy dancing and drinking and playing with the hula hoop.

■Dinner:
We ordered the arepas with cheese ,cashews salad, cranberries ,carrot & onions. All we got was cheese and onions, everything else was missing and it didn't taste good. I They should have told us before ordering food that those ingredients aren't available atm . After our complaint it took them another 20min to cook the food, this time with carrots ,the other ingredients were still missing.

■ Breakfast:
It's an All you can eat breakfast for 5$.
We got to have breakfast at around 9.15 am , half of the food wasn't topped up . We had to notice them again to please top up to food , they topped up a few things but not all of it . That's not what we had paid for. AND THIS WAS THE LAST TIME WE ATE AT SELINAS RED FROG . From this experience on we went to this little nice restaurant, right in the beach where you get what you pay for with great service and delicious food.

I'm really dissapointed with my stay at SELINAS RED FROG cause i know how nice other Selina Hostels are , especially the staff /service.Seems like Kids are running this place and can't be bothered to work.I would not recommend staying here.
Thank Katarina J

The Selina in Jaco and Tamarindo were better for sure, but I´m still quite happy about this one. The 11 bed dorm felt a bit too small. The other dorms were fine. The shower is cold and the internet is rather bad. It´s in the jungle, not at the beach. You NEED some sort of light to get there after dark. It´s just a few minutes walk to the beach.

Thank you for your honest commentaries, we are working hard to keep up with the Selina's standards across the globe, we will for sure take in consideration your recommendations. Since we are on a separate island there are some services that are more complicated to get than others but we still are trying to improve them to give the best experience for our guests. We hope to have you back again any time soon.

I know there was an airport, I think it was Bocas del Toro.. you have to take a water taxi to get to Red Frog from the main island. We had flown into Panama City and stayed there a few days then bused overnight to Bocas.
