Tucked away behind the Taj Hotel at the Gateway of India, this hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Colaba. Room 107 was perfect - clean, good size cupboard, fridge, bathroom en suite, window onto the street and opened onto a lovely covered veranda - great spot for winding down after a day on the move! Staff were very...

I searched and searched to find budget accommodation in colaba but it was impossible. A solo room with shared bathroom here was 1200 rupees but I was next to the bathroom and nobody really used it. Location is good, next to taj hotel, gateway and Leopolds. Bed was comfy, TV with cable, travel agency at reception, old fashioned feel to...

For 800 Rupees per night, you cannot expect to have a palace but this backpacker hotel is good value : room is small, with fan and a window and the share bathroom is with very large clean Italian shower and the most important, it is more quiet than the other backpackers hotels I’ve visited in the same area. The staff...

The room we got had no bathroom atached and not window but the bed was confortable, the fan was working perfect and it was...

Location is definitely the best part of this hotel. Prepare to negotiate your rate. Also be wary, the staff will say it is OK to leave your bags in the room for the day as the hotel is empty. They will then threaten you and not give you your things back if you don't pay them for one more night,...

Much to love about the Carlton hotel. Awesome location, and one 20th of the price of the Taj across the road (but 20 times the authenticity of service). Room was basic but clean and quiet. On arrival our shower didn't work properly and Raju the manager made sure the shower head was completely replaced by the next day. Despite temperamental...

The hotel is situated right next to the taj mahal hotel. 2 min walk to the gateway of India and 1 min to the main street with exclusive shops. The room i had for one person was very smal but okay. The shared bathrooms were new and very clean but without hot water. The staf was nice and helpfull.
