Anopura Jaipur Nestled within the fold of green hills, ours is a hidden, and thankfully forgotten, corner of the world. This is a land of timeless villages and nature in its purest form. Ours is a vision of simple, quiet luxuries, nurtured alongside the rhythm of the countryside. Of idyllic pursuits, reading and feasting, of sundrenched hours by the pool, verdant vistas and velvet nights spent in candlelight conversation with distant stars. Anopura is a secret hideaway, the far-flung fantasies borne of childhood memories. This luxurious retreat is the quiet Arcadia we call home. Home, your home. A petite collection of cottages and courtyards, of private pools and thoughtful butlers; here lies the charm of Anopura, where every need is so perfectly anticipated. Here hours fade into days and lives lived in traffic and deadlines seem to slip into golden oblivion. If there is Paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this.

Stayed at Anopura for 2 nights, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is a magical place. You have to stay there to know what I am saying. Its a place to relax, unwind, breathe fresh air and just immerse yourself in nature. Its a place where you are surrounded by a rustic luxury, a place where even the silence is deafening. The rooms are well sized and tastefully done and in line with the theme of a quiet getaway, there are no television sets in the rooms. There are 6 rooms on the property and depending on whether you are coming with a couple of friends or just a romantic getaway with your beloved, you will find something suitable for you. We happened to be the only guests when we visited so it was a special feeling for us. The Rajasthani village home style built section with an open courtyard in the center surrounded by a couple of rooms and a separate living room and kitchen has a charm of its own for those who wish to get that feel. The (almost) private pools, there are 2 of these across the 2 different sections add a fun/relaxing element. The service staff will do whatever is in their power to make your stay even more comfortable and enjoyable and given the fact that all of them are from the villages nearby is all the more remarkable, a classic example of generating local employment along with the typically Rajasthani flavour of village hospitality where the guest is treated as a God. The food here is delicious, made with fresh ingredients, with some of them coming from an organic farm maintained on the property itself. There is something like a village chaupal which is created where you can sit and just chill, listen to music, drink a beer, read a book, meditate or play some fun interactive games if you would like that. I enjoyed interacting with the squirrels and the many varieties of birds who call that place their home. They are quite fearless in interacting with us humans and one baby squirrel found the courage to climb upon my leg and arm! One evening, we also went for a walk outside the property, to a temple nearby whose evening Aarti bells can be heard at the property. The evening Aarti was a beautiful event and has to be experienced and the devotion expressed there has to be felt to be understood. In conclusion, I would just like to say that if you wish to rejuvenate yourself in the midst of nature and try to connect with yourself, go and visit this beautiful place! Disclaimer: The property is owned by a cousin of mine, but that does not make what I have written untrue.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. The accomodations are unbelievable, you literally have your own little compound complete with pool and outdoor dining/lounge area. The food is delicous and authentic to the Rajasthan area. It was an adventure from the start, we arrived a later in the evening and were a little nervous our driver was lost as we drove through what seemed like little traveled back roads but alas two men on a motorcycle met us and guided us to the hotel. The staff could not have been more accomodating and lovely, they immediately offered us dinner despite it being very late. The next day was India's Independance Day and the staff invited to us a preformance at the local elemntary school, which was amazing and the whole village was so welcoming and wonderful. This in itself was sucha highlight in our trip. My hearts goes out to everyone at the hotel and in Anopura Village during these hard times. When the world returns to some normalacy please remember how important it is we support wonderful small proprerites like Anopura who take care of their communities with such care and love.

My husband and I visited Anopura for the first time last year and had to return again. We were warmly welcomed by Ishwar and the staff and it was gratifying that they remembered us from the previous year. Anopura doesn't disappoint! Our cottage was beautiful and relaxing, the service impeccable and the food is incredible. It was the best we had during our 3week trip to Rajasthan. This is a hidden gem just outside of Jaipur(about 1hr) and is more than worth the time to detour your trip to visit, whether to relax in the outdoor living room or take a walk into the village and be greeted by lovely villagers. We were even invited to tea and taught how to make chapatis; a spontaneous experience and very memorable. We highly recommend Anopura and are grateful to Ishwar and everyone who made our visit so wonderful. You just have to experience Anopura. You'll want to return time and again, as we do. Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful place and very private. Large well appointed rooms , ours had both indoor and outdoor showers . Pool is delightful though chilly . Enjoyed a led walk to top of nearby hill and met local children and villagers on the way and at the local temple which was fun. We ordered gin and tonic- the tonic was 'on its way' . It arrived next day , so we made do with beer. We told our host we were vegetarian , but when the evening meal arrived ( and theres no choices , its take it or leave it) it was chicken and chips with peas and carrots .Given there are only 2 rooms to cater for they could surely ask the guest what they would like , and given half of India is vegetarian they should manage a vegetarian meal. Next day we insisted on Indian food and got a reasonable evening meal . Lunchtime salads were very tasty . The staff were helpful tracking down a parcel we had arranged to be delivered . Delightful property but hospitality need improvement to justify the high prices charged .

90 minutes from the noise and the traffic of Jaipur, this beautiful complex is set amidst serene wheat fields and flower gardens. Designed by a Belgian architect, influenced by traditional Rajasthani farmhouses, with luxurious swimming pool and superbly tasteful interior design, vibrant sense of colour with miniature sculptures and artifacts on featured walls. Rooms are large, bathrooms huge. Although this is a desert area, the garden is lush and attracts many birds. The food is mainly western and is delicious - a great chef. We were the only people there, so it felt very special. The staff are attentive. They need some umbrellas to shade the poolside lounge chairs, otherwise everything was perfect. We will definitely return.
