On the recommendation of the GM, Mr. Sanjay Nangia of our hotel Cedar Inn we visited Tumsong Tea retreat for a day trip.Though the approach road is little rocky, the visit was worth it, From the time we stepped into the retreat Deputy Manager Mr. Nandy gave a very warm welcome with the orthodox darjeeling tea made in the estate, which... This "hotel" is actually a palatial bungalow that was in the past occupied by the Manager of the Tumsong Tea Estate. Today, it has been converted into a beautiful, 4 room, guest house that is available for rent. The rooms are gigantic with fireplaces, the bathrooms are perhaps even larger! Furniture is a little old but is perfectly suited to... More

What a place, amazing experience, royal hospitality. I must say Mr Rajat Nandi is man who pampered all of us and believe me we lived like a king for 4 days. Hats off to Mr Nandi. I strongly recommend everyone should visit once.

Frankly, I have never heard about this place before booking. It is about 16 km from Ghoom and should take about 45 minutes, if you hit the correct road. We took the wrong route and it took almost double the time for us. Somebody mentioned, 'a hellish road to heaven' and it fits perfectly with Tumsong! Once we reach there... More

We 4 couples stayed at the estate for four nights. It was great experience. Rooms were too spacious and comfortable. USP was hospitality and sumptuous food. Every member of staff took extra care. Kanchanjunga view from my room was breathtakingly beautiful. Lawn was manicured and had lovely flower beds. We learned a lot about tea processing and tasted multi varieties... More

Quaint old estate house, excellent service, food, and hospitality. The tea estate lies in a secluded Himalayan valley staffed by sweet Bhutanese tea workers. Our host, Miss Arpita Nandan, was an absolute gem! Her and the staff waited on us tirelessly. She gave us an informative tour of the tea processing operation and a one-hour hike down to the river... This was out second time visiting Tumsong. Amazing place for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Since we were there for New Year' eve, they organized a special bonfire with local dancers - making it even more memorable for us. The view of the Himalayas from the garden is breathtaking. I can totally skip Switzerland to vacation here again!!!
