I had a splendid time with my darling husband on our first trip to India and joie de vivre made us feel right at home with their marvellous service and great food. However, we were inconvenienced by frequent power outages, resulting in our spending most of our time in the dark. Maybe it was my imagination, but we certainly did...

A well thought off and executed establishment. The villas are unique and appropriately furnished. The staff are courteous and the service is great. The swimming pool could be a little bigger though. On the whole a nice to spend you holiday as it's well distanced from the madness of Baga.

Villas are a bit tacky and dirty. the sheets are not super clean and the beds are musty. The blankets are not washed regularly and were smelly and musty. The entire vill was not exactly so clean. The room i was staying in was missing a fan regulator so either the fan was on and on full speed or off...

First I'd like to say that all the people involved in this resort, from the owners, the booking admin and all the staff that run the villas day-to-day are fantastic and take excellent care of their guests. The villa we stayed in was lovely and a true home away from home, only better in many ways! The villas are of...

This place is tucked at the back of a main roundabout, miles away from the beach. The surroundings are very ordinary amongst bush and rubbish. To charge a high tariff and not provide wi-fi internet is a very inconvenient for any tourist. Too far from cafes and restaurants.

We were 3 families and we booked a 3 bedroom villa with kitchen. The villa (Silhouette) had 3 bedrooms, with AC and fan and beautiful traditional furniture, a dining and sitting area and kitchen. There was also a sitting area and large balcony upstairs. Bathrooms were all upgraded, clean, well maintained. Kitchen had a stove, fridge, microwave, elec. kettle and...

I stayed at this property a few months back with a bunch of friends. We had booked this villa through AIrBNB, and it was a lovely experience. They have an amazing pool, and 24 hour security, so you can relax without any tensions here. They have a good breakfast menu, which is open till 11, so you can eat breakfast...

We were a group of 7 who stayed at Villa Amour, JDV for 4 days 3 nights. It offers very clean rooms and the pool is really well maintained. It is placed very strategically close to most places in north Goa and fits your budget perfectly. We had an extremely pleasant and comfortable stay. However, the service was okay. If...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Joie de Vivre is situated in a scenic & sleepy village in North Goa, India. It is approximately 5 kms to both the market town of Mapusa & to the nearby beach belt of Candolim-Calangute-Baga. Nestled in the idyllic village of Nagoa - Arpora, this boutique resort allows you to indulge in the quiet luxury of Goa’s yesteryear. Nagoa gives you an insight into the lives of the Goan people. The rustic setting and the tranquil environs teeming with the sights, sounds and sensations of the countryside, and evoking the pastoral charm of a fast disappearing era. While allowing for that recluse from city living, hot spots like Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Mapusa and Panjim are all easily accessible from Nagoa. ... more   less
