This place has a great potential to be good but fails to keep upto even min expectations. The room was dirty, the bedsheets were stained, the cot is of poor quality. We were supposed to get a deluxe room but the room we got in 2nd floor was no way deluxe. The management gave us a better room next day...

This January, we spent a couple of nights at the Kerkar Retreat. It really is a peaceful heaven in the middle of the typical indian chaos - especially the beautifully decorated garden-restaurant, where also the breakfast is being served. In addition, there are regular cultural events taking place on a little stage at the end, and there is cadle light...

Kerkars is a VFM hotel. Only a few rooms set within an art gallery, it is a quirky place to stay. My room was large and painted blue with a matching painting by Dr Kerkar. Clean and large bathroom. With a small kitchen with a gas burner and a fridge, it is meant for travellers who are mostly out of...

Want to live with art... We did and enjoyed the huge rooms that had art inside them. There is a gallery in the same building and behind the mansion there is a restaurant that hosts weekly shows of Indian, music & performance instead of Karaoke. Short walk to the beach and some good restaurants... And the Hotel is on the...

The Kerkar Retreat is in an old house that has some charm, however the beds and bedlinen require serious attention. I was severly bitten by either bedbugs or fleas. This is not a budget accommodation, and at the price the proprietors could purchase some new sheets and pillows. As an establishment owned by a medical practitioner this accommodation warrants considerable...

Despite the warning that it might be noisy the Kerkar was a delight. Good food, a quiet atmosphere. Facilities to do your own cooking, although the restaurant was very good. The noise, from a restaurant next door, was a soloist singingto the music from all the oldies from the 50 - 80's which he had learned by listening to the...
