I wish I could say that the photos does the island resort justice cause it doesn’t! A lot of the island’s sand bank seems to be washed away by the sea.
Whilst it is beautiful I feel that the Owners could do a lot by attending to the following points;

1. Give tourists visiting decent food, hot food. A variety of food not the same stuff day in and day out. Salt, pepper and sugar sachets should be supplied by the Resort as well.

2. A decent coffee machine & a decent toaster is a urgent requirement I would say.

3. Supply tourists’ with at least one free bottled water per meal.

4. A variety of fruit & fresh pastries daily would be so welcome.

5. The shop could be well stocked with a variety of snacks and not just the edibles they have currently. Which is actually non existent.

6. Besides the hard school like benches there is nowhere comfortable for one to sit. If there is one major thing they could invest in it would be to provide some sofas & comfortable chairs to relax on.

7. The rooms were very basic but kept clean by Sarah bless her soul. Towels were enough and were always fresh.

8. The transfers to & from the Resort is quite scary.

9. They could really build some gazebo’s with thatched roofs on the beach for shade.

10. The pool area needs a serious revamp. The tiling they have causes it to get so hot from the sun one cannot even sit or lie on it.

The staff at this Resort is great.

Will no doubt return if they revamp!

We chose Beachcomber for our last 2 nights in lovely Fiji over the Hilton because of the lovely beach and clear water. By the way when you add up the transfer plus accomodation it is $200 aud cheaper to the Hilton. We had to get the special transfers due to our previous hotel schedules and flights which means we had to pay more.

We had to get a boat from the Anchorage run by an Australian bloke who owns Beachcomber as well. 15 min to our 40 boat ride he ordered the boat to go back because they forgot to give him his money and added 30 min total to our trip with no apologies from him! Arriving to the Beachcomber, his resort looked so run down, dirty and needing some major repair, maintenance and upgrades! The bures or huts scattered around looked delapidated. Our first room was dated and the aircon not working, located at the sunset wing. They had to move us to another one down stairs but it was close to the septic tank so the outside smelled so bad that the outdoor deck is useless. The toilet smelled like piss so we had to have it cleaned a few times. We even cleaned it ourselves! Credit to Sala who ensured we were as comfortable as possible. She is an asset to the resort. The food was ok but the facilities as mentioned was circa 1990's and didn't look like it was ever upgraded since that decade. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because of the staff, especially Mama Lesi and the girl at the boutique. Management need to upgrade and take care of the detiriorating state of this once beautiful gem of Fiji. Very sad.

We spent 6 days at Beachcomber and it was amazing!! The island is beautiful and the staff are brilliant who go above and beyond to accommodate you including dietary requirements and airport transfers. (You have to ask but if you don’t ask you don’t get!) A special shoutout to Male and Bill on the bar ❤️ Rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff are lovely. It’s nice to chill and spend days on the island but fun day trip activities are also offered which is nice. Food is basic so a little more variety would be nice and sunbeds or some chairs would be nice on the beach. Vinaka vakalevu for everything would defo visit again!

I had been to beachcomber in 2003 and had such an amazing time always wanted to go back, wish I hadn’t!
Went for a half day trip which was just shy of $200. Supposed to be from 12.15 - 6.00pm - arriving into island at 1pm and leaving at 5.15pm. Island activities included a turtle tour (three small turtles in a pond at the back of the island), snorkelling - the roughest part of the island with least variety of fish for 30 minutes max and terrible buffet lunch which looked and tasted like it had been sitting under the sun all day.
At 4.15pm, one hour early, we were told we had to get off the island as the ferry was early. Basically as it was so dead there the staff wanted to knock off early so tried to get us onto an earlier boat. When we refused they told us if we didn’t we would be stuck on the island and have to pay for accomodation for the night. After some arguing we were then brought out to the ferry, which was not there, in a small transfer boat from the island and sat in it for roughly 25 minutes until the real ferry actually came. Between south sea cruises and the staff at beachcomber each just blamed each other and essentially ruined our day and all my memories of the island.
It used to be a really hopping, vibrant party island. Now just dead. So disappointing after the great time I had there years ago.

Semi detached beach hut with direct access straight onto stunning golden sand beach. Fish feeding twice daily on glass bottom boat with snorkelling from boat with masses of fish. Snorkelling direct from beach with beautiful coral and fish and opportunity to see turtles. Hammocks outside rooms and around the island. Canoe hire, refreshing (though slightly on the cold side pool, sea is hotter). Cocktails in bar after a relaxing day and tunes from dj tailored to audience eg Disney for the kids!
As a vegetarian I was slightly anxious about the full board but there was plenty to eat with rice, fresh salad, olives and fruit with each meal and usually other vegetables eg mixed veg, dhaal soup, potato curry.
Breakfast with beans, bacon, eggs, hash brown, toast and cereal.
Only slight downside was the showers as mainly cold water or hot dribble, however, with daily dunks in the ocean or pool and pool side showers who cares. The cold showers were comparable with other similar places I’ve stayed in Bali and Tonga.

Bula! I just got back from a 10 day stay on Beachcomber Island. I had one of their beach front bungalows and had the most amazing time. I went there to recover from work, to relax, snorkel and enjoy the beautiful weather. First, I was slightly worried because it's called the party island, but the music is only at the bar area and doesn't affect the accommodation area. In the end, it was nice being able to choose between isolating at the beach further away from the bar and socialising over drinks and music in the evening. The island gives you a feeling of coziness and welcoming vibe compared to other more sophisticated islands which I really liked. The Team was absolutely amazing!! Everyone was extremely thoughtful and always around for anything I, and/or the other guests, needed. Vinaka again, everybody!!
Yes, bottled water needs to be purchased, but I understand it can't be free of charge as they need to buy it from the main land as well. Over meals, there's fresh water from their filter system, which doesn't taste like bottled water but is totally fine. I drank it for 10 days ;)
There's always plenty of different food options for meals, although maybe a little hard for vegetarians as everywhere on the islands. But you can ask for vegetarian options and they will try to come up with something nice for you.
If you like snorkelling, I recommend bringing your own mask and snorkel so you're ready to go whenever you like. The best snorkelling spot is around the nearby sandbank, which can be reached by kajak (on hire on the island) during low tide. Crystal clear water and lots of colourful corals.
I only snorkel but I saw other guests book diving activities. Day trips to surrounding resorts and snorkel spots can be booked also at the reception(minimum 4 people).
I will definitely go back when another time out needed, or just to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the island again!

We got there by accident, because the lady at the onboard travel desk made a mistake on our last night of island hopping, so in the end we had to go there because nothing else was free.
It’s a small island and beautiful like all the Yasawa islands but the resort is very old and the rooms aren’t comfortable. Bathroom is old and needs to be fixed, water didn’t run properly...
It’s more like a low budget Hostel.
In the middle of the Island is a power house which is really loud in the night.
There are no beach chairs and the hammock looked broken.
The people were nice though.
It wasn’t main season so there was no party at all but the party-area looked kinda nice, so I could image a good party with lots of people there.

Hi everyone this place is great for a day trip but to be honest I wouldn’t stay here. The water supply is very poor some times you turn a tap on or the shower on and no water comes out. The rooms are dated not well maintained but worse of all if you are vegan or vegetarian you will starve if you come here all the meals are meat and it’s like a school canteen each meal time is only 1 hour and if you miss it you miss it. The island itself is very stunning but apart from snorkeling and fishing there isn’t anything to do on the island they don’t even have sun beds like the sister hotel the anchorage. Wifi only works at the bar and no happy hour at the bar and the power supply comes and goes honest it’s a no from me and it is nearly $400 a night

I’ve been here with my son.
Let me start by saying how annoyed I get by the poor reviews people have left.
It is clear that this place is not a 5 star accommodation, or a 4 star for that matter, so give them a break.
What it is however is an awesome place to get away from it. Every staff member was lovely, every single one of them. Whatever you ask, they try to help or accommodate
Let me respond to the good feedback. Again, you’re not paying a lot for this place so to expect some gourmet meal is ridiculous. They have choices every night, and the food is okay. Once again, not a restaurant experience, just basics but for the sort of trip and place that this is, it’s fine.
I can not comment on the dorms. I stayed with my son in a sunset room with air conditioner. Comfortable, bed comfortable. Once again, basic but perfect for what you are here for. Right out our window, there’s the ocean, and all night the awesome sound of the ocean. Bathroom was fine.
As far as experience goes, it was great. Great place to kick back and just do nothing, relax. Sit on a hammock and watch the world go buy. It forces you to relax.
After the crap we have all had to deal with, it was great to come here and contribute what I could to this place, which like so much of Fiji, has gone through hellish challenges. This place is still trying to wind up, so give them a break.
In any case, if you want to just relax, swim in the water at your doorstep, do some basic activities, great place to go to.

Visited island on a day trip from Denarau. Brochure completely overstates what you experience on arrival.

Place opened in 1990 and looks like nothing has changed since that time.
Very run down facilities , terrible lunch and totally disinterested staff.

Most activities except the snorkeling are now outsourced to another resort.

We couldn’t wait to leave not the friendly Bula experience we received everywhere else in our time in beautiful Fiji.

Total rip-off
