This is on the edge of Xintiandi and very close to the main shopping area of Huaihai Lu but the immediate surroundings are not very attractive. Rooms are new and comfortable and very well equipped although the Internet is a little slow. No breakfast buffet but fixed menu choices. There is a pool and a basic gym with light weights...

It wasn't the first time at this hotel and if I return to Shanghai definitely I will stay here again. Good facilities, services and staff. Good choice for whom that came to work but needs a nice place to rest. Well located to take a walk to visit the city.

I booked this "hotel" based on its location and top notch reviews. Indeed, fantastic location, right in the heart of the city. Inbound from Pudong airport by taxi, took about 45 minutes during weekday rush hour, and cost 150 RMB. Check in was quick and efficient, though not much of a welcome from the front desk. The bellboys and concierge...

Staying in Xintiandi

Neighbourhood Profile
Xintiandi
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
