Upon entrance the hotel stood grand and promising it has all the hardware that deserves the 5 star but unfortunately it lacks the 5 star service. Throughout arrival and check in and to the room not a single bell boy is to be seen helping with the luggages . We arrived late midnight and ordered supper at a 5 star...

Loved this hotel and would recommend because the General Manager Mr. Hollweg treated us as special guest taking us to the 30th floor and pulling out all the stops with a fantastic view, very delicious food, and a lovely conversation- thanks goes out to the GM Mr. Hollweg!

My room had a fantastic view. The room was very comfortable, the bed was a dream for my tired bones. Breakfast was excellent and generous. The hotel is at a walking distance of most of my business meetings. I will come back for sure to enjoy Shanghai in a very nice way.

A short, yet memorable stay in the Kempinksi. I was only in Shanghai for 2 days on business. I took the Maglev train from the airport...a must...then taxi to the hotel. One needs to be patient, lots of traffic in Shanghai. I wish it could have been longer at this hotel. The first thing that springs to mind is the...

I stayed at the Grand Kempinski Shanghai for 4 nights with my family and we had a great stay. The staff was really helpful, especially one of the managers who was German. The rooms were nice, although a little bit on the small side. Food and drinks at this hotel are expensive, but that is typical at Kempinskis. The wi-fi...

We stayed for 5 days in a suite on the 8th floor. The suite itself was beautiful- well layed out and everything worked. Decor very pleasing on the eye and the bathroom with our own sauna very nice. House keeping a little sporadic and only complaint: they never replaced fork, knives, napkins as we ate our way through the complimentary...

First trip to Shanghai, selected a hotel based on high TripAdvisor rating and reasonable distance to the company we were visiting in Shanghai. The Kempinski is in the Financial District, loads of restaurants and high end malls within walking distance, nice rooftop bar and restaurant. Although the room was a fair price, there is about 15-20% add on's, and none...

Dear Mr. Stephen, Thank you for your positive feedback on your very recent stay at Grand Kempinski and I am grateful for your detailed comments on your guest experience. I would also like to give you feedback on the “about 15-20% add on's” which is the obligatory Service Charge and the 6% VAT, which have been newly implemented in 2016....

I spent a week here as part of a business trip in October. My room was spotless and had everything I needed. Luxurious bathroom, spacious room and a view partly over the city, partly over the River. Breakfast was amazing and offered everything you could think of! Helpful staff and apart from having to wait about 20 mins to check...

Nice hotel in the center of Shanghai. Big nice rooms (superior room), good service. They have several good restraints and a bar on top with a nice view. Spa on top of the building offers great view as well. The only thing is, that they have some problems at the reception. They are extremely sloooooow( I had to wait 1...

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighbourhood Profile
Lujiazui
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
