DO NOT BOTHER BOOKING HERE! The room we were in was damp, and EVERYTHING was wet the beds the walls the sheets your clothing after just a few hours in there it was horrible! The hostel has a couple of families living there with children who just run around all day annoying anyone in sight! The food was disgusting. For... More

I know, it is one of the cheapest in Shanghai but try to avoid this hostel. The whole room and especially the bathroom is unbelievably dirty. I lived in a dorm with five chinese women who seem to live there constantly. No hot water. I was glad that I was just staying there for one night - you really can't... More

The place is located in a very uncomfortable location, with only one bus passing in the area. When we arrived in the room and we put down the bags, we saw a cockroach running away. We go speak with the staff, which send a guy with a DDT bottle to spray around. We went out couple of hours and when... More

After arriving in Shanghai, this guesthouse was definitely not what we were waiting for. The location is not in the part of the city you want to be in, and the street where the guesthouse is, is pretty sketchy. Not the best part of town. The common area looked very nice, though, with a lot of movies, couches, sitting areas... More

Stayed only one night! The hostel was okey, but the reason I went to a hostel were to find people to explore Shanghai with. However, it was only chinese people there, which of course is fine. But they were living there and working in Shanghai, and not insterested in exploring. Also, in my room 3 girls had been living for... More

Before I begin this review I want to make clear that I have a profound love for hostels and the run-down atmosphere that often accompanies them. However, Hidden Garden is a step too far. I was drawn in by the enchanting common room and assumed the whole place would continue this vibe. I was wrong. The walls of the rooms... More

I stayed there with a friend for 3 nights. The street where it's located is 10 minutes away from subway and may seem a bit creepy but when you arrive at the hostel, the atmosphere is good. The staff was really nice, helpful, and speak a really good english! The common spaces are great and we met really cool people!... More

I can't say that i didn't like this place because service was nice and they speak bery good english amd the common room as well was very cozy but the room itself was in quite a poor condition, the humidity made my bed vet every evening, so I didn't feel like going back there. Localization is okay during day in... More

This is the most we paid for accommodation in our month in China, and it was by far the worst service The staff are the rudest I've ever met. when you ask for help, they just point at the communal computer and tell you to do it yourself. they are not willing to give any advice on where to go,ticket... After a long flight from Belgium I came into this hostel. The room had no windows, was superdamp, and the bathroom was really dirty. I booked a room for 4 days but decided to leave after one night. The bunkbeds were also really old. I do believe in summertime this could be a good hostel, since they have a nice... More
