Definitely more hotel rather than hostel. Outstanding location. I had an excellent single room with a big bed+tv+good, well needed heater+ensuite+free, fast internet+very helpful, friendly staff+roof top bar+good attached restaurant with nice menu at fair prices. I believe there are cheaper, shared rooms than the single I had.

Stayed here in an 8 bed dorm with a group of friends and had a blast! The rooftop Bar is a nice touch with a good selection of alcoholic drinks as well as food. However the best part about this hostel is the location.2 minute walk from Dashije metro station and it is not far from people's square. There is...

The hotel is really conveniently located. 3min walk from the Dashijie metro station (line 8). It will cost you only 7CYR by metro to get there from the international airport. Exit the station, turn left and the first left again. the hotel is on the right hand side in the second block. Reception staff spoke well English and was helpful...

Decent hostelish place to crash right near Peoples Square. Sheets were clean in our 2 rooms. Kind of funky bathrooms. Strong smell of bug spray in one room. Not a great place to hang out in your room, but you don't travel to Shanghai to hang out in your hostel room, right?, Really easy metro access to and from Pudong...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
