A few metres walk to bustling Nanjing Road makes this hotel a great choice for those wanting to explore historic Shanghai and the Bund. Restaurants, the Metro, shops, good restaurants are all within easy walking distance. The hotel has been refurbished and the rooms, although not huge are cosy and comfortable. Front office, concierge and door staff are efficient, but...

This is a great hotel to stay in for business. Centrally located with easy access to the business areas. A tropical storm hit during my stay but the hotel maintained full customer service and had a large supply of umbrellas which they gave to guests as they headed outside. Very good gym and nice rooms.

What a lovely location of the hotel, bang on the Nianjing Lu Road where you find all the shopping, Yu Garden is 1.5kms and The Bund is 1km. The location is such there won't be any difficulty in finding international food. The room is well planned and the staff isvery helpful. Breakfast options are also enough. Good for business, tourism...

We stayed at the Central Hotel in late December. We arrived a little after midnight and were gone by 9:30 am, so our review is based on a very limited time. Even though we arrived very late, there were sufficient staff to check us in and show us to our room. This was not one of the new glass palaces...

Enjoyed 4 great nights at this hotel. Clean and definitely meets the 4 star rating of an international standard. Only drawback but was rectified very quickly was the need for a RMB 3000.00 deposit at check-in for each day of stay. After discussion with manager on site, requirement for the deposit was removed. Concierge staff were very helpful and tried...

Stayed here two nights for business. Nice modern hotel, rooms were fantastically updated! My room was on the corner and was a little small, but still nice. I didn't, however, like the fact that there were some stains on my carpet, but I tried to overlook it because everything else about the hotel was very nice. The staff seemed ok,...

We did not regret staying in this hotel and it is one of the hotels that I would once again stay in, if I were to go to Shanghai again on my own. Here are the reasons: 1. It was good value for the price we paid. 2. It's location is good. 3. Our room was big, clean and comfortable....

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
