Only stayed one night here, but it is impossible not to be impressed by the large gardens and forests surrounding this hotel - right in the middle of Shanghai. Very well maintained and including walking paths throughout - really very nice for a morning walk to relax and get some air. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, good breakfast buffet.... More

I stayed at the hotel on 4/17. They told me that because it is early spring, they turn the A/C off. If I am feeling hot, I will need to open the window to sleep. No amount of begging could move them to turn on the A/C. I paid $1600 for the hotel and I even offered to pay more... More

All the Shanghainese know this hotel and it's famous by host governor, delegation and celebrity. I will say as a long history hotel itself, it doesn't give me the feeling with old equipment, actually the room is much better maintained than i expected. The most lovely thing is their breakfast i found out a lot of typical chinese, shanghai traditional... More

This hotel should be included in seven wonders of China. Awesome! We reserved a dinner package for 4 nights and could only have 2 dinners due to our schedule, but still worth the money. Endless walking passages through the extremely well managed gardens and forest. I tried walking after every meal but simply could not find where it ends and... More

My colleague and I come to Shanghai every year to visit our factories. We have always stayed in central Shanghai, near shopping and the Bund but we got tired of the amount of time we wasted trying to get in and out of Shanghai due to the heavy traffic. So this time we decided to stay somewhere closer to the... More

We spent the weekend in Shanghai as I was taking a flight out from Pudong. We picked this hotel because of it's property design. There were several large lawns that my children enjoyed running around on. Unfortunately we didn't have more time to explore more. From the photos it looks like there are more bridges and walkways. We stayed at... More

I travelled here for work. It is beautiful and surrounded by a huge garden. It does not feel like ur in the middle of a maddening city. I liked the breakfast spread. I ordered room service quiet a bit and English was a serious problem. (which is a problem in the city).I liked the room . The food was decent.

“a room with terrace is a good decision.”

“To have a totally quiet room with balcony facing the park, not facing any road, take the executive rooms, not the business rooms. Slightly more expensive (I think 200 or 300 more) but worth it. Book on their website for good rates but call to confirm which room you have”

“If you choose to go to dinner outside the hotel, and you do not have a car, please don't expect that you can leave the front door and walk to a restaurant. Its a 2K walk back to the main road. However, they have a multipassenger golf cart that can excort you out to the main road, and pick you up at the road, when you return. Not a problem, but need to be aware.”
