I first came to this hostel in 2014. I have only stayed in private rooms. They are clean and comfortable. They have both rooms with glass bathrooms and private bathrooms - so beware if you are traveling with someone you are not intimate with. There is a restaurant at ground level with good food. They speak English. There is an...

Perfect location a couple minutes from the Bund and very easy to get to with the metro from the airport. Also, really good restaurants and street food around, you can get some amazing beef jianbao right around the corner from this little halal place that is very popular; on my last night in Shanghai I queued around an hour to...

We had a double room in this hostel that was the best we'd stayed in China. Rooms were fab although small, cleaned every day, nice sheets and towels, free wifi. It felt more like a hotel than hostel. Can't speak for the dorm rooms. Lots of food places around if you know what to order, Chinese orientated. Restaurant right below...

You get what you pay for but the rooms are clean and get serviced everyday and there is a great restaurant downstairs to get you on your way. Close to the Bund, French Concession, People's square and Museum - all within 10 minutes walk. Rooftop bar is great...

Rooms are spacious, spotless and the beds are comfortable. The guys on reception are really helpful and the...

I never thought I could be this lucky. Phoneix has perfect location, is clean, safe and a nice rooftop. This does not make Phoneix unique, the thing that makes Phoneix the best place I have stayed is the staff. The British manager does not only make you feel at home at once, she also knows the history of the area...
