We were guided to Pura Vida by the Corcovado Adventure Tent Camp and they made a wonderful suggestion. It was a great place to meet wonderful people and to have a very peaceful stay. The food was fabulous and the rooms were very comfortable. I loved the discussion and learning from all of the staff. Thank you for making the...

I traveled here with my family of 5. This was a great location to stay at. The service was beyond wonderful. Anything we needed or wanted was granted within minutes. I personally stayed in Rainforest, Mariposa, and Katydid. All three rooms were wonderful and although we were required to move from room to room, due to my mothers late booking,...

For some reason, value and service survey above got locked on 1 when I thought that both were five. As for breakfast, I assume that the sandwiches did not include all three meats. As a non-meat eater, I would like turkey with no cheese(low cholesterol). We really enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would definitely make your place our first stop...

Not only was Pura Vida a lovely place to stay, but Berni went the extra mile to help me out: When my luggage didn't make it on my flight, he was there when the airline delivered it to the hotel at 1 a.m. and brought it to my room. He was up again at 5:15 a.m. to change currency for...

Westayed 2 nights- mainly airporat recovery but we also arranged our tours for a 4 day visit to Costa Rica through Berni at Pura Vida. He has a business partner (Esterling) who is the guide normally used and who is absolutely brilliant- funny, polite, knowledgeable, reliable, excellent English, a good driver and a great person for ideas on what you...

This quaint little hotel is located just minutes from the main airport in San Jose. Berni and his staff are excellent in helping you feel right at home. The food that is provided is outstanding and handpicked from the local markets daily. The rooms are large and conformable. There are individual casitas placed around the lovely vegetated grounds of the...

Pura Vida is within close proximity (driving) from the San Jose airport which is nice after a long flight. However if you are planning to stay for a while and explore the area, you would definately have to rely on public transportation to go anywhere. The owner was on-site the entire time and awas very informative. On the other hand,...

To be honest we only really chose this hotel because of it's location near the airport but what a surprise! It's a beautiful building in a stunning setting-we stayed in the volcano room which was very pleasant indeed with excellent views of the volcano (surprisingly). Berni is a most friendly and welcoming host, he provided us with a wealth of...

We stayed on our last night, as a stopover before an early flight. The grounds were great, the staff helpful, and I would highly recommend the hotel. We stayed in the Volcano Room, which was lovely, but there was an ant infestation. We loved our stay regardless because it had a nice patio area withe views of the volcano. We...

I found the Pura Vida Hotel quite by accident online, then saw it in the Fodor's book. I called Berni down there to get more information and he volunteered to book a rental car and have it delivered to the hotel. I asked him for hotel recommendations at all the locations we wanted to visit and his choices were excellent...
