We stayed here four nights 15 -18 February. Check in was friendly and efficient. The hotel consists of small buildings scattered around the site. The room was large with two double beds, small wardrobe with safe and a unit with a TV on it. A...More
This hotel and the grounds should be rated 5 star. Their is not one negative thing about this resort. I was very sick when we arrived here and all I wanted to do is get to a bed and lay my head down. We opened...More
Unique resort of little cottages, surrounded by beautiful exotic plants & with view of volcano. Cottages are modern, roomy, private, well kept, with porches to extend the space & outdoor experience. Would be good for families, although none there in early Feb. Hot spring pool...More

We hiked Arenal and that was 3.5 KM loop and that was filled with elevations changes that left most of our group sweating and breathing hard. My wife and I do sprint triathlons and we both felt the strain of the ascending and descending. I learned any terrain near the Arenal volcano area is not a light afternoon hike. If this is the only activity you plan to do that day and are taking breaks I'm sure it is doable.
