We stayed one night at Hotel Casa de Lis. The staff is super friendly and willing to help you make your trip better. They gave us a bunch of really helpful advices. The place is clean and rather affordable for the accommodation type they propose (really warm showers are available). They offer free drinks in the morning. I highly recommend if you are in the vicinity!

We were so happy with our time at Casa de Lis! We had a rental car and were able to park it behind the gate of the property, which really eased our minds. There was ample street parking too though. We had already arranged for whitewater rafting before arriving, but Olivia was able to arrange pick-up for us, which was super helpful! Our room was clean and had an ensuite bathroom. The shower was warm, which we did not always experience in Costa Rica! There is a nice terrace at the top; be sure to look around the corner to the mountain view behind the building. Our room had a balcony overlooking the street. If you're a light sleeper and in one of the front rooms remember to pack your earplugs if traffic noises bother you. There is a panaderia (bakery) across the street that was super convenient for grabbing a quick breakfast. Coffee was provided in the reception area. If I every make it back to Turrialba again, for sure I will stay at Casa de Lis. …

We loved Casa de Lis. Try for the room at the end of the hall with a balcony overlooking the garden. Very quiet, plenty of space. Coffee provided every morning. We got breakfast food at the bakery and supermarket, stored it in the large kitchen, and ate it on the great terrace with a view. But there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff was terrific, Abby, and also the volunteers who work there. They arranged a trip to Guayabo and to the the cacao farm. We walked to the botanical garden at CATIE. I'd go back in a minute.

Lis is a lovely woman, and you can really feel that she cares. The whole place is super clean, there is free and fresh coffee every morning, the terrace is a beautiful spot to hang out after an adventure, and it is located in the centre of the town, so you can walk everywhere!

This hotel was lovely! The staff especially were what made this location memorable - especially Avi and Alejandro. They were very knowledgeable and helped us sort out the changeable bus timetable. Avi helped us with local’s knowledge to figure out what kind of activities we wanted to do within budget. The rooms are lovely, and the veranda and garden areas are great places to relax. The kitchen is also big and well stocked. Overall, we had a great stay and were sorry it was just for one night!

Very central in Turrialba town but without the traffic noise. Limited secure parking available. Nice rooms with modern en suite. (my only negative is that the in-room TV is very small). Helpful staff. Smoker's terrace with nice views of the volcano

We stayed a couple of days in Turralba. Casa de Lis was very nice, staff attentive and rooms clean and with cute little balconies. The place also has a garden and roof terrace for lounging about in a hammock or watching life down in the street. And it's handily got space to park the car safely just outside the hotel. Staff recommended virtually next door's Tok Tok for brekkie and gave advice on activities in the area.

Sorry it's taken me so long to review (but better now than never). The girls who greeted me are so welcoming & helpful. Arriving in a new town on a Sunday morning with few things open can feel humdrum: a broad smile was soon put on my morosity. Pura Vida. It's a homely little hostel with good vibes, cheery artwork, practical information; not overloaded with facilities: irrelevant. Beds & bathroom fine. A relaxing patio & upstairs balcony. Unless into rafting, Turrialba's just a workaday upland town with no pretensions, and all the more pleasant for it: a good staging post between Orosi and the Carib Coast. Casa de Lis is central, an easy walk from the bus station, the main square a couple of blocks. Thank you girls for a lovely stay.

We had just a one night stay on Turrialba. We liked Casa de Lis. Front seat staff was super helpful. Room was comfortable. We left super early at 5:30 am to go birdwatching tour. Important note: Turrialba is a small town with limited restaurant options walkable. And some close early.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Central location, good places to eat, shop and activities are aplenty. Ask the reception staff, they know their stuff and will help out. We recommend the private coffee tour at Cafe Vina where you get to pick organic coffee beans and meet a local family. Can't fault the place, would go back tomorrow! Especially for the hummingbirds in the back garden, they are really special.
