We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. The view is amazing. Gracious staff who were most helpful. There’s a great place to sit outside overlooking the valley. Pros: good food in the restaurant, Beautiful views, outside the chaos of town. Cons: no air conditioning, rooms

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of a 3 week trip around Costa Rica and were really impressed with the lodge. Firstly the situation is impressive, on top of a hill with stunning views across down to Turrialba, the valley and the volcano. The gardens surrounding have loads of bir

We were totally beguiled when we arrived at this charming old Costa Rica style hotel. The views are amazing, the people were very warm and hospitable, and food was good. The room seemed very clean, but the rooms with the views are somewhat open to the restaurant below, this might

This lodge is one of the best places that I stayed at in Costa Rica. The location is on a hill top with great views across the valleys. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, if leaning slightly towards the simple side. The shower was great. From the window I had a view o

The staff was extremely attentive, and the food was amazing. Accommodations were simple, yet comfortable. By far the highlight was the views, which are extraordinary. A fantastic spot for photographs or just experiencing the beauty of Costa Rica.

Hi. We are mostly driving on main roads on this part of our trip so have hired a normal car (not 4WD). Is the track to the hotel drivable in a normal car? Thanks!
Yes, no problem.

"The less expensive rooms offer the best views, but are above the restaurant. Spring for the more expensive if you want to sleep past 7am."
"Try for rooms 14-18 and you'll have a quiet room with a beautiful jungle/garden huge window on one entire side. Good sized rooms."
"Check the rooms, before checking in. The top floor rooms would be good for morning coffee with a view, but see if they are big and clean enough. No views from the motel style rooms, I think, but am not sure."
"If you stay in the lodge for the quaintness, be advised that the walls are very thin. You will hear your neighbors and the diners below and they will hear you. The rooms in the extensions are much quieter."
"We really enjoyed the upstairs room in the main building. Beautiful views from the balcony."
