We rode into Liberia to wait out Hurricane Otto. Isabel, the owner, welcomed us and helped us position our motorcycles in case the hurricane was bad. Isabel was kind, caring, and professional. Her son, Javier, helped us to plan an itinerary of what to see in Costa Rica. The staff was polite and professional. The room was clean, comfortable, and had... More

We stayed in Hotel Javy for a few nights before making our way to Nicaragua. Found their listing on Tripadvisor and decided to try it. It was a bit pricey for what we were used to traveling in Central America ($80 US a night) but it felt safe so we tried it. Lots of foreigners. Breakfast was included; a humble... More

My husband and I had to spend a few days in Liberia for some medical procedures and we always like staying at a family-owned business rather than a chain hotel. Dona Isabella, the owner of Hotel Javy, and her staff made us feel so at home. She saw to our every need and was very concerned my husband had what... More

Hotel is simple, clean, and has TV, WiFI, Air Con, safe parking, comfortable beds. Breakfast was tasty. Owner is very friendly and tries hard to meet your needs. My Spanish is weak which presented a challenge for me in communicating - but they were kind and called someone who could help me.

My boyfriend and I stayed here before our flight out of Liberia the next day. We were a little confused when we first pulled up weather the place was open but when we put our car right by the gate Isabella the owner came right out to greet us. This place is awesome! Isabella is very friendly and makes you... More

Rooms are clean and and totally fine for the price. The staff is really warmly and helpful and you can also get a good dinner if you tell them. The hotel is located a little bit outside of the town centre which was good because it's a really calm area. We enjoyed our stay!

My second time staying here was just as delightful! The hosts are adorable and incredibly warm and helpful, the food is simple, classic Costa Rican, and delicious, and the courtyard is beautiful. I almost want to return to Liberia just to stay here again. After flying in from a cold winter climate, there is no better place to end up.... More

I will remember the smile of the female proprietor of this hotel for a long time. She is one of the most genuinely happy and kind people I've met. The hotel is clean, safe, and serves excellent breakfast and dinner. During my visit I was the only tourist there, which I liked. I've read that many government employees stay here,... More

Clean but basic. A lot of government workers stay there, so they aren't hooked on tourists. That might be a good thing. Meals pretty good but simple. Lots of birds in the fruit trees. In the daytime the courtyard was used to process frijoles, at night it was packed with vehicles. I wonder if the scent of motoroil infuses the... More

We stayed at the Javy both on arrival and departure into/out of Liberia. Compared with the big soulless airport hotels this was a great introduction into the real Costa Rica and the hospitality of the Ticos. The bedroom was spacious and clean with very effective air conditioning, and the property is secure with private on site parking. We loved both... More
