We rented boards here for three days during our visit to Playa Grande. The woman at the desk was not exactly friendly, but it was $20/day USD to rent a board which I think is average for rentals along the beach. The manger provided extra wax and was friendly to us when we dropped off the boards. Make sure to...

Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and super cool wooden hyttas;) enjoyed staying there a lot! Very close distance to the beach. Although, it was pretty diffucult to get there, and there are no shops/ grocerys close by.

This is a lovely property, gorgeous location, all great except I came in low season. I was the only person staying so I had no clue as to where anything was and there were no instructions at the hostel telling you how far the nearest restaurant or supermarket was. The property in low season is extremely secluded. I was lucky...

I spent 2 weeks at Playa grande surf camp and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get off the beaten track and experience the relaxed surf/beach life that's Playa Grande has to offer. The camp has great facilities and is just a few mins walk from the beach. The crew that run the camp and surf lessons couldn't be...

If you want a nice and calm place at a lovely beach outside tamarindo, this is it. The dorm we stayed had enough space, the kitchen is clean and there is even a swimming pool. The beach is just 1 minute away, they rent excellent surf boards and around is a super market and some restaurants. Only to get to...

First things first. I love Playa Grande and will return to this tranquil place when I visit Costa Rica again (I can't say the same for Tamarindo) I will most likely stay at this location every time I visit. That being said I need to warn you this isn't your normal "warm welcome" hostel. I always research places to stay,...

We stayed here for 2 nights in one of the gorgeous little cabinas. The photos on the website don't do them justice! They are way cuter thank I was expecting. The place is just opposite the beach. They have a great selection of rental boards to choose from. The on site restaurant makes an epic breakfast. The little cabinas are...

This family friendly location is perfect, steps away from the beach. Upon arrival, the staff was very attentive and so easy going. They all make you feel like family. Luckily, the surf instructor (Vidier) was very thorough and extremely patient during my lesson. I was having a hard time getting on that board (first timer)! He knows exactly what he's...

Visited Costa Rica for the first time, December 2015. The staff at Playa Grande Surf Camp were outstanding and made our stay incredibly enjoyable. We had surf lessons from a couple of fantastic instructors; the beach was absolutely gorgeous. The food and drinks at Cafe Mar Azul were awesome before and after some beach time. Many thanks to Justen, Lindsey,...
