Had a great time here at the hostel where the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is chill and social, and the price is fantastic. There's a nice open kitchen with hammocks outside. The accommodations are basic as you would expect but clean and well kept. Quick five minute walk to the beach. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in...

This hostel had the perfect combination of a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Also, there's a pool. It's walking distance from anywhere in Tamarindo and has two fantastic hammocks. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Had a great- and vastly extended stay at Tamarindo backpackers. The staff are super friendly and inclusive- which as a solo traveller was greatly appreciated. The hostel strikes a good balance with a lively atmosphere in the evenings that doesn't interfere with your shut eye if you are tired after a day's surfing or beach time. Fun times, thanks guys!

I stayed at the Tamarindo Backpackers for 1 week with my boyfriend and our best friend in the 10 person dorm. I thought 10 people in 1 room would be crowded and potentially hectic but it was the complete opposite. Everyone was quiet and respectful, not to mention that they were all great people inside and out. Hostels are great...

10/10 Tamarindo Backpackers was like a home for both myself and my girlfriend. We went for a tour around Costa Rica and ended up loving our first stop (Tamarindo Backpackers) so much that we changed our vacation plans around so that we could come back at the end of our trip for round 2! Also if you're in the mood...

The staff is amazing! Even though they didn't had room for my first night (I arrived to Tamarindo on high season on a Friday without reservation), they helped me get a room for that night in another hostel. The next days I stayed in Tamarindo Backpackers and it was awesome! The place is nice, clean, good kitchen, great pool, and...

It's been so far the best hostel I stayed during my trip in Costa Rica. Staff is very nice and helpful. The kitchen has everything you need to cook anything you want. Rooms and dorms are cleaned everyday, such as the rest of the hostel. One love to Camil. Hope to be there again one day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tamarindo Backpackers is a boutique beach hostel. Anne the owner works very hard to improve the hostel on a daily basis. Tamarindo Backpackers is a small, friendly place to stay just minutes from the beach. Get to know fellow travelers in the communal kitchen or chilling by the pool. Its a super friendly and fun atmosphere. We are the Lonely Planet Guide recommended hostel in Tamarindo for several years running! Here's what Lonely Planet has to say about us: "Our favorite hostel in Tamarindo, this intimate, all-star backpacker spot, in a gorgeous yellow hacienda is big enough to make new friends . . . small enough to feel more like home. The common kitchen area has a large, full-stocked shared Kitchen, cable TV and FREE coffee. Dorm and private rooms are clean and comfy. Outside, you will find lovely tropical gardens, small pool and hammocks, all surrounded by woods where you'll hear howler monkeys every morning".- By Lonely Planet 2011.
