The Playa Negra Guesthouse is one of the best places we've ever stayed. Our room was adorable with big double doors that we left open all night to the jungle breeze; the maid service was impeccable. The grounds are very well kept, very pretty and the pool is sparkling clean. Marise was so helpful, sat with my husband for easily...

We (family with four kids aged 12, 10, 8 and 4) just spent two weeks in Playa Negra Guesthouse with Marise and Pierre who where incredibly good hosts. Clean and well functioning cabins, amazing wildlife around the cabins, great breakfast, and a wonderfully guided tour by Pierre through the national park all at a very reasonable price. Thank you.

We spent two weeks at the Playa Negra Guesthouse. It was the perfect base for exploring Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. It is safe, clean and friendly. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Marise and Pierre are welcoming and helpful. We would encourage anyone to stay here.

Everything was just perfect !!! The piece of nature surrounding this guesthouse is so beautiful !!! We could sit on the porch forever... watching the wildlife, the sloth in the palm tree, all kinds of birds, monkeys in the trees. On the last day of our stay here, we had the hazardous idea of buying a ceviche on the beach......

Spent 11 nights here with our children who enjoyed the pool and accommodation. We had a very relaxing holiday and would recommend this place for all. Rooms are good and clean. The nature is all around you and we saw many animals in the hotel area. The owners are great and extremely helpful and want you to enjoy your holiday.

Our spacious room with kitchen was very comfortable, and we had a private terrace with its own garden where we had breakfast. The gardens and pool are beautifully maintained. Breakfast is extra, and we found one was ample for two. The couple who run the guesthouse could not have been more helpful with information and recommendations about restaurants and transfers....

We enjoyed our three nights at the Playa Negra Guest House. The rooms were simple but comfortable for myself and two kids (6 and 13). The pool was great, enjoyed by both of my kids. The staff were all vey nice. The location was close to town that you could walk there in 5-10 minutes, but far away enough that...

After a long and stressful drive from San Jose we were welcomed by Marise and stepped into paradise, made every second of negotiating SJ traffic worth it. The gardens are spectacular and the accommodation so perfect. We stayed in the Blue Cottage which was just great. Plenty of space, lots of equipment if you wanted to cater for yourself and...

We (2 adults and a baby) stayed 8 days with Marise and Pierre and couldn't have been happier. This was by far the best hotel / B&B we stayed at during our 8 weeks travel in Costa Rica. The guesthouse is located right at Playa Negra in a lush beautiful tropical garden with a very pretty pool area. The owners...
