I loved the Jacaranda. My Bungalow was in the back of the lush garden, it had a comfy bed, mosquito net and Fan, everything clean enough. My room had a small terrace with a hammock, great to relax. I did not use the communal kitchen as I was eating outside every day. Jacaranda has a good location, very quiet for... More

Rooms are hot and no air conditioning. Fan is powerful but ends up circulating hot air. Water sometimes was not hot or even warm in shower. Having said all that the staff were pleasant. And the courtyard is nice. There is a kitchen and you can store things in the fridge. The place is pretty secure and there is a... More

The one thing that really sticks out to me about this hotel is that they strictly enforced "quiet hours" which appeared to be after sunset. As a traveler, wanting to connect with other travelers, I found it frustrating that management requested that our group could not sit and converse in the gardens. Otherwise, the location of the hotel was good,... More

The gardens are beautiful and the room setup good. Some parts of the room are a little run down (shower heads, etc). The bad thing however, is that most of the rooms don't have aircon but really need it. These rooms are designed in such a way as to not lose any heat at all. On nights when it is... More

When we arrived at the Jacaranda, Monika at the desk, was very friendly and explained all the necessary information. She showed us our room and stated if we needed anything to let her know and she would deal with it immediately. The staff, accommodations, and location were excellent. We were treated very kindly with any questions or requests. The room... More

Tour arranged hotel as part of our Intrepid journey. The rooms were quite small and did not have any air conditioning. After 8pm you are not allowed to make any noise in public areas or you will be told off by Management. The hotel could do with some basic maintenance - e.g. fixing the walls/roof so that water does not... More

I had a great stay at Jacaranda. The staff there is friendly and very helpful and the rooms are very clean. I especially loved having my own little porch with a hammock right outside of my front door. Although it's right in towns and conveniently close to everything, you feel like you're miles away.

Tour arranged accommodation. Close to all the amenities. Nice garden setting. There was a small rotating fan in our room but it would have been better if it was one of the bigger ceiling fans like in other rooms as it is the tropics.

The location of this place is great, it's so easy to walk into town or to the beach from here, lots of good places to eat nearby. The wifi is really good, and the hammocks make a nice communal space. Many of our group enjoyed the yoga sessions arranged by the hotel. It was a clean place to stay and... More

Jacaranda was the perfect location. Just close enough to all the city life, but quiet enough in the gardens to relax and get a good nights sleep. We will be back next time we visit Puerto Viejo. We stayed for four nights. The hotel owner and every working there was very kind and helpful. Laundry services were great. The grounds... More
