Nature wise this is a nice place. However reaching there is just a nuisance. They pack people like cattle on boats with really some grumpy guys packing us and our suitcases in not a very nice way for the price. Once there, rooms are ok but good and service are really basic to lower basic. I don't want anyone to...

Forget luxury, these are chalets in the middle of the lowland rainforest and the surroundings are stunning. You can be woken to the dulcet tones of howler monkeys and look up to see toucans flying over. The tours of the nearby waterways in the national park reveal an amazing diversity of flora and fauna. This is ecotourism at its best...

We loved everything about the Evergreen Lodge. Our experience started with a boat ride on a river where we saw many birds and a crocodile. Our suite was a cabin on stilts above the jungle linked to the lodge by boardwalks! Walking to our 'cabin' we saw colourful frogs, crabs, many White Face Monkeys and birds. The area was secluded...

We had a large room & a large bathroom, perhaps to cater for disabled guests. We were in an 'end of terrace' in a block of 4. Unfortunately, we were directly adjacent to the end room of the next block, so could look directly into their room and visa versa. This meant the we weren't able to keep our long...

The moment I arrived I got a refreshing drink and then my keys . The grounds are stunning, reminded me of the Amazon. You are surrounded by lush greenery, the cabin is wonderful although be prepared you might get to share it with a huge spider (I did ). Everywhere you go you will see the butterflies, monkeys, basilisks, frogs....

We really enjoyed our time in Tortuguero at the Evergreen Lodge. It was a great balance of comfort and blending into the environment. Truly enjoyed it. The environment is basically setup like a campground with cabins spaced along cement trails into the forest. The cabins are clean and comfortable and you feel really immersed in the rain forest experience.

We loved this awesome jungle central hotel. You really feel welcome from the first moment you arrive with a juice cocktail greeting on the dock, then the beautiful lodges located right in the jungle/rainforest setting. Howler and capuchin monkeys were everywhere; the boat tour was great; the village tour was fun and interesting, and the caribbean coast waters were amazing...

around 4 hour drive and boat ride from San Jose ( roads are interesting) make sure you have an empty bladder when you stop halfway and no back pain. The lodge itself is one of 3 built in the tropical forest on the river but just a few 100 metres off the Caribbean coast not that you are aware of...

Stayed here for 3 days as part of a tour of Costa Rica. Despite it's remote location (by boat only), the lodge was well appointed with two bars, two restaurants and two swimming pools. It also offers on site zip lining (which we did and it was excellently organised). Although there were tours and trips on every day, the highlight...

A relatively small resort; accommodations primarily consist of small bungalows on stilts over the jungle floor. Place has a feel like the second level of MYST. Meals are served in a central building at specific times; food is just fine. During our stay, significant rainfall occurred and as the windows are screened over only, under high winds, rain penetrates to...
