I wish I could have stayed longer - my husband and I had 2 nights booked at this hostel, but due to hurricane Otto the whole island was evacuated and so we had to leave after just one night. Aracari Garden had very friendly staff, a relaxed vibe, and wonderfully clean and well-equipped rooms. In fact, our private room with...

Lovely owners, the tours I made via the hostel (night walk, canoe tour, transfer to Puerto Viejo) were great fun. It's not a party place, there were a few older guests as well but I guess Tortuguero overall is for the nature, not the party. Just one peace of advice: take enough cash with you. The only place to get...

Nice hostel in Tortuguero village with a good standard (just to be clear, big luxury cannot be expected in all Tortuguero village) Very friendly & helpful staff (they took very good care of me when I was a little sick; definitely more than what you would expect). Relaxed atmosphere, you can even spot animals while laying in the hammocks Excellent...

My 13 year old son and I stayed here. Marina couldn't of been more welcoming and helpful. The location is central enough to walk to everything within a few minutes and the beach is just behind but quiet enough to relax on one of their hammocks and listen to the jungle. Rooms were spotlessly clean. We felt very safe there,...

We stayed 3 nights in a private 3 person room during August 2016. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We did the turtle tour and the canoe trip with Luiz who was really knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about the environment and biodiversity within the village and it's waters. The hostel was clean, had great facilities and a great sitting...

This is an excellent budget hotel to stay in the town of Tortuguero: rooms are very clean, garden & shared area is very pleasant & the location excellent (next to restaurants & the beach). We are a family of 5 (3 kids of 13, 12 & 9) and we fitted in one of the big rooms, which was very convenient....

I found the hostel through a website. They offered package deals of tours and accommodation at the best prices we found. $70 for 2 nights and 2 tours!!! I booked the tours, through email, the day before we were due to turn up and they had a quick response and were more than accommodating. We were meant to stay in two...

We (family of four - two parents, two teen kids) booked the family room (double bed, bunk bed) for a four night stay, and were not disappointed. The hostel is equidistant from the town and beach in this charming town, and offers everything a travelling family would look for. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the settings are ideal. The...

We went to Tortuguero to try and see turtles and observe wildlife. Aracari Garden Hostel was a friendly place that also had good tours. The staff was knowledgeable and ready to help answer questions. We had a double room with a bath. No AC but the fans did the job of keeping us comfortable enough to sleep.
