Tortuguero was our first stop in 8 nite tour of Costa Rica that included Arenal Volcano & Manuel Antonio. The trip was long. The return trip on the canals and change of a couple of buses to Arenal was grueling. I traveled with my husband...More
We only stayed for one night, but we got to see a green turtle laying her eggs!

Guess like any trip you just have to be careful and attentive. Wonderful place to visit, lots of wild life and very close to nature. Staff at resort are very friendly and helpful. Enjoy your trip.

Sorry, just saw this. No. Pachira lodge plans all of your activities. It's all inclusive and because of the remote nature of the trip, they plan everything. You can do zips or other activities during free time, but I'd recommend zipping in another CRan town. This is quite a unique experience and with all the activities they had, I chose to lounge by the pool and read.
