As the title suggests, if I could give less of a rating than one, I would. It's not that the experience is bad, it's fine. It's basic and wild, so don't expect luxury as it's all about being in the middle of nowhere and experiencing nature. They nail that part. My dissatisfaction came down to the booking and transport arrangement....

I am sorry to see your bad review, I have to say that after 450 reviews we have had just 6 like yours but that is still too many. Over 80% of our reviews are 5 /4 and we want to keep it that way. As to your complaint we have a set route to navigate San Jose for pickups,...

We stayed at Turtle Beach Lodge for 2 nights/3 days in late October. We absolutely loved it here. Our guide Daniel was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable and great at spotting wildlife. We couldn't believe how many animals we saw, and we learned so much about Costa Rican history, wildlife and culture. We visited during the quiet season, and one...

It was our first experience in CR and it was great. Fernando (our guide) picked us from the hotel, and then we started our way to Tortuguaro. We stayed in the lodge for 2 nights, and had an outstanding experience, Fernando was a great guide, real professional and had lots of knowledge. We saw lots of CR native animals thanks...

We stayed at Turtle Beach Lodge in September. Everything was beyond our expectations from the boat ride through the jungle, the exceptional service, the welcome cocktail and the beautiful landscaped gardens. The food was excellent with many fresh exotic fruits and vegetables. We enjoyed kayaking, jungle tours, visiting the National Park and were lucky enough to see the green turtles...

Absolutely one of the best eco-resorts you will ever experience. I recommend going during the green turtle egg-laying season for a memorable experience. All the guides are great, treating each visitor as if they were their first client--very personable.

in costa rica, you won't get any closer to the jungle then Turtle beach lodge! at a certain point we could even see a jaguar swimming over the river, what an amazing experience! a couple in our company found the first day a (non venomous) snake in their bathroom, and at the first night we got awake at 5:00AM because...

Spent 3 nights here back in late August. The entire experience was excellent. Do not let the sound of the long first day's journey from San Jose to the lodge deter you. The bus ride is scenic and the boat ride to the lodge is just amazing. We had a mix of rain and sun and both were enjoyable. While...

We spent our new year night in this resort after 3 weeks of Costa Rica tour... We arrived to the Lodge via river with a simple boat...river was full of caymans... The Lodge also offers night tours to the river for experiencing the wild nature... A little slice of luxury between the dense jungle and raging ocean. Certainly not your...

My 13 year old son left his knife behind when we checked out and was heartbroken as it had been a birthday present. Not only did Heidi and Christian at the lodge locate the knife but they then arranged to have it hand delivered to a different hotel where we were staying later in our trip. Outstanding customer service -thank...

I went along for this ride. Being my first trip to Costa Rica, this was easy. I enjoyed the people on my tour, the food, the adventure to get here, and the sights. My tour guide was fantastic. He is incredibly cheery and knowledgeable. Jonathan, the tour guide loves his job and knows a great deal about the environment. He...

Turtle Beach Lodge, 5 miles north of the town of Tortuguero, is a secluded resort spanning 175 acres with miles of jungle trails, a meandering private canal, and a half mile of beach adjoining still more isolated beaches. The lodge accommodates approximately 80 guests; assisted by a well trained staff and guides who ease you into an exciting jungle experience.
