Manatus is a great choice while visiting Tortuguero, everything from our collection in San Jose, our hotel itself all trips , luggage transfers and return to the mainland were well organised and efficient. The hotel itself is small which means you quickly chat to eveyone and get to know your guide, Luis, who was a font of knowledge. Rooms are large...

Big room, wide selection of a-la-carte menu items, friendly staff. On your own activities, Nature Path and Kayaks are included free of charge. Eduardo the bellboy/landscaper/kayak launcher, also referred to by some other guests on here as the one always smiling, did not speak English very well but tried incredibly hard to make everyone feel welcome and have a good...

A lovely place to stay with nice rooms, and interesting gardens. Luis was an excellent guide for a night walk pointing out small frogs etc. that we would have missed. The restaurant food was very good & on realising I was keen to photograph wildlife, the waitress kindly showed me bats roosting, & Luis found me a baby boa to...

Loved Manatus Hotel! Nice set up, beautiful grounds, lovely rooms with fantastic air conditioning, only 12 bungalows which make it nice and private compared to the other lodges with 180 capacity plus. It's also the only place that has air-conditioning which is a huge bonus especially after hiking through the jungle, so great to cool down with. In addition to...

Though a tiny bit pricey, it is worth the splurge. Large rooms with comfy beds, tasty meals included in the price, and knowledgeable staff provide the perfect balance of true relaxation and ecotourism.

I have stayed at a great many hotels, and I think Manatus gave me the BEST customer service I have ever received, anywhere. We were picked up at the airstrip and transported by boat to the hotel. We only had one night at the hotel (a tragedy I may never recover from). The gentleman who picked us up at the...

I have stayed at many hotels in Tortuguero and this hotel continues to be the best. The location is great and the service from the staff is 5 star. I love how they want to know what you really want to experience and make sure it happens. The rooms are great, they have AC, TV and are very clean. Stay...

Stayed here for three nights and had an amazing experience. We met Luis our guide on the boat trip to the hotel. On arrival, we were met by the manager, Sergio and a very smiley young lad who took care of our cases, worked in the gardens, sorry didn't get your name. We went to Tortuguero village that afternoon, back...
