The rooms are basic, but clean and reasonably comfortable. It is right on the river, and there is a deck that offers a nice look. The tours that were offered were marginal. One guide book we used recommended this place as one where excellent guided tours could be arranged. We did not find this to be the case. We took...

We expected an interesting B&B, but ended up with a small spartan room with a window on the main street, so could not open curtains. Heard street noises late into the night and again very early in the morning. Breakfast was good. Boat tour somewhat disappointing, did not see much wildlife and guide provided minimal information. Owner not on premises,...

This small hotel sits right on the riverfront in Tortuguero village. Sitting outside on the deck was an absolute dream location. Sat there for hours watching river taxis, many birds and iguanas and listening to the distant sound of howler monkeys. What an antidote to city life! Our room no. 9 was very clean with a double and a single...

As a frequent traveller and Trip Advisor reviewer, I normally feel quite clear about the things I want to say, which I hope will help other visitors to have an enjoyable stay. But I don't want to spoil the pleasures and surprises of staying at CASA MARBELLA by stating all the advantages . So read carefully what the wonderful host...

We stayed 3 nights here with two rooms and loved it. The location is great on the river and breakfast is good. There's also a fridge and microwave you can use, and a grocery store just a few doors down. We had a great early morning boat tour with Victor. Book that ahead. Saw lots of animals. Then spent the rest...

Big shout out to Victor for an excellent canal tour on the electric boat, he knows his stuff and was a funny dude with good stories and jokes, highly recommend. Coffee before the 5.45am departure and breakfast ready to be served when you get back just gone 9. Fruit plate with either pancakes, syrup and banana or scrambled eggs on...

First of all, we didn't have the best experience in this little town. The trip there was amazing because we opted for the bus and ferry ride which took us into very rural areas and gave us an Amazonian experience in the canals where we saw crocodiles and beautiful rainforest. It was about a 5 hour trip if I recall...

I had reservations about booking this place as it was so much cheaper than all the lodges I looked at but I would happily recommend. The hotel itself is very simple - we stayed in a family room with a double 2 singles and a pull out. The room was relatively small but scrupulously clean and Tortuguero is about getting...

Centrally located with a nice dock. Good breakfast, and early morning coffee is a nice touch. Staff very friendly and helpful. I stayed in the front room at the top (I think #7?) which was one of the more expensive ones. It was a nice light room with views over the river. It was quite small with no space for...

We were there during the annual festival, and were very lucky to find a room here. The first night we slept in room 1 on the street side and it had 2 personbed and 1 single bed. Not really spacey, but enough for us. The shower/bathroom was clean. The 2 following night we moved to a different room (nr 5),...
