My 12 year old daughter and I spent nine great days at Look out Inn. It is a magical spot with an endless beach, sunset views and hiking trails right at the doorstep. We had a great private cabin where I could see the stars from bed and hear the surf and wake up to the rainbow of birds flying...

We spent three gorgeous nights at the Lookout Inn from March 21 to March 23. it took us about 1-1/2 hours to drive from Pto. Jimenez down a long, bumpy, dirt road, across several rivers. But, what fun! Once you arrive and drive up that steep driveway, it is very serene with lots of birds and wildlife. The resort is...

We hiked the 13 miles out from the Sirena Ranger Station in the heart of the Corcovado Jungle to Lookout Inn in Carate. What a wonderful respite. We stayed in the Beach Jungle Cabana, which was spacious and delightful. Though there is no A/C, there are mini-fans attached to the beds and those were sufficient. Plus, since the cabins are...

SUN SETS ocean sunsets between Sept. 24 and March 17th -- the sun sets out on the ocean and we often get '' the green flash '' a marvel if your sitting at our lookout inn bar and lounge over hanging the rain forest and pacific -- wild life such as the scarlet macaw all over the place daily --...

Just back in Santa Cruz after a wonderful trip to Costa Rica and wanted to write this review immediately. The highlight of our trip was our stay at Lookout Inn. What a gorgeous location which was everything we hoped for and more. Our rooms, the tiki huts, are my dream lodging come true, with views on lush tropical rainforest flora...

after a beautiful flight on Nature Air and a taxi ride through the rain forest, arrival at the Lookout immediately felt like home. Carate has a few lodges and an airstrip for the air taxi. Lookout has a beautiful spot along the beach. Scarlet macaws will cackle you awake and entertain you endlessly. the hardworking staff provide delicious, healthy meals...

Words cant really describe how wonderful this place is. Getting there is a little bit of a challenge, but once your there the remote location, accommodations, and friendly staff make this an experience rather than a destination. If you're looking for the typical luxury hotel and tourist area its probably not the place for you. If on the other hand...

If you're looking for remote - this is it. We spent a couple of nights here. The directions from Puerto Jimenez were vague, so you'll have to ask where to make the turns because the dirt roads are poorly marked. The Lookout Inn runs on solar energy, so there were no electrical plugs in our room for charging electronic devices....
