We arrived to be met by one of the cleaning staff (?) as there is no hotel reception. The lady called someone and we spoke over the phone to arrange the check-in. The pool, greatly advertised through numerous pictures on the website, was empty. There was no indication of this on the website. the whole place is rather run-down and... More

The owner of this place was amazing: Not only did he give us great advice on restaurants, but he also spent at least 45min on the phone for us changing our bookings in other places. He also let us choose our room as he had two available in the same price category. We took the one just above the pool... More

Start with the positives: The manager David was obviously well intentioned, showing us a map with recommendations of things to do, making us a coffee and giving us an additional fan. The hotel is cheap for Manuel Antonio and is in a decent location half way between Manuel Antonio Beach and Quepos. The view from the room was amazing. Now... More

My girlfriend and I have been traveling for about a week and this place was, to be fair, not bad, but fat from good. We're easy travelers and thought we could save a few bucks considering Manuel Antonio is a bit pricey. We booked here through booking.com at a decent price and the description said that there would be A/C,... More

After travelling in hostels for over 2 months, the apartment we rented in Baile de la Iguana felt like our own little home. With full kitchen, ensuite bathroom, TV, couch and double bed, we had everything we needed right at our fingers tips. Did I mention the view was to die for? David makes it a point to take care... We spent 3 nights in El Baile de la Iguana, and were disappointed. We are usually not looking for amazing hotels and we were actually excited for some "backpackers experience", but this was not what we expected and was a big disappointment. The good part: The rooms are very big. The location is great, right next to a bus stop... More

The "Paradise" apartment (with two double beds, a kitchenette and a barhroom) on the top floor needs some painting and remodeling, but it was rather comfortable and the view makes up for a lot. The hotel is centrally located, which is a big plus. We did not use the swimming pool but it seemed to be clean, and the view... More

Of the five places I stayed in Costa Rica this was by far the best. It was the cleanest hotel/hostel of any and David was the most friendly and helpful owner you could ask for. Beautiful views from the swimming pool and a perfect central location close to resturants and activities. What a memorable experience!!!

Myself and my girlfriend booked this place for one night and ended up changing our plans and staying for 3! It is a great location...close to the beaches and also the national park- it is also very handy for several really delicious and cheap restaurants including pizza, Mexican and a typical Costa Rican restaurant. The apartment was really clean and... More

“Higher floors have a better view and are away from the street, but are more for those travelers who plan to have an extended stay. Davíd offered us a different room if we decided to stay longer, but it didn't matter too much to my group where we slept, when the overall experience of meeting people and seeing places was more important to us.”
