Open the door to a quasi-sewer/mold/moisture smell only to find it worse after we turned on the AC. Sink faucet broke as we turned it on. Bed was literally ungodly...my wife slept in the hole side whilst I perched on some broken spring assembly on my side. Shower would not drain (and I'm not keen on stepping into old shower... More

We stayed 2 nights as part of a tour group. Room on ground floor with huge window looking over the reception area and the exhaust pipes of the cars parked right outside. Had to keep Curtains shut as result. Toilet overflowed twice. AC was on but ineffective. Beds (twin) were lumpy and hard. Sink and toilet came away from wall.... More

Stayed as part of a tour group so not sure of the price we paid but imagine it was over. Room was small and the air con unit looked very old. The switch on the unit was stuck so we only had a very cold option. It was an extremely noisy hotel. The air con was like a motor in... More

This isn't a fancy hotel. The shower was cold, and the room could have been a bit cleaner. BUT the A/C worked. The room had a small balcony attached, which was nice. There is free coffee downstairs. And the hotel is conveniently located near the bus terminal for easy access to Manuel Antonio, beaches, or longer trips within Costa Rica.... More

This place is alright, I guess. There's no option to have breakfast included, so you'll have to go down the street to the restaurant to eat breakfast anyways. The room we had, it started leaking through the roof when it was raining... so that's not good. When we asked the reception for a good place to go out at night,... More

Poor hotel in many ways. It is handy for the bus station (315c to Manual Antonia every 15 mins) (taxi $10), shops and limited quality eating places. It offers poor but free coffee. Meanwhile. We had no hot water in the shower the entirety of the two nights we were there. There was what appeared a brand new aircon unit... More

I stayed with a friend in Hotel Malinche during high season and I really like the hotel. After looking in some of the hostels in Quepos which were either overbooked or overpriced, we found it worth spending 4 dollar more each (the room did cost 40$ for two persons) to have a clean and nice private room with a private... When we first were shown the room, we liked it compared to the place across the street. It was spacious, and seemed clean. She then told us the price and we at the same time said "We'll take it!" First let me list the positives. -secure parking and a guard -wifi -tv -fridge -we had a balcony (room #2) -the... More

I stayed three nights. You have to put the hotel in the context of Costa Rican Hotels in Quepos comparison. In that context it is a very reasonable choice. You can negotiate a reasonable rate for the bare-bones rooms. Some have A/C and some have refrigerators. The hotel is located on a side street and you have to look to... More

If you read my review about the Best Western Kamuk, you'll know we didn't stay there and after some searching ended up at Malinche. There was only 1 room with a double bed left so we checked it out and I have to say it was definitely the strangest shaped room/apartment/studio ever. But, it worked. It was clean, and the... More
