Hi Anna, Thanks for your comments. We don't use pork fat as Costa Ricans do and we don't add too much salt or heavy spices as we are religious and health conscious for our elder clients. Yes we have improved the pinto and I urge...More

This hotel is unique. From the outside it doesn't look like much, just a house on a San Jose street. Inside, it resembles a hotel-there is a desk and a friendly staff person sits behind it. There are also deep couches, hidden corners and a large...More

I would stay here again. The building is very unique and the location is as safe as you can expect for San Jose. There are several other hotels nearby that charge almost twice as much for the same quality.More

Warm Smiles from Tallahassee Florida. I am going to Costa Rica with my 17 year old daughter Spring Break in March 2017. We are ending our Ecoterra Tour on March 13th to be dropped off at the airport in San Jose and from there I have to find my way to lodging and more activities for 2 more nights. I am looking for decent accommodations under $80 a night that will allow us to explore the area to entertain ourselves on the afternoon of the 13th and all day the 14th and get to the airport around 10am on the 15th. This Hotel looks intriguing and seems to point out we can walk to museums and do some trinket shopping safely during the day. I like that point allot. Do you know if a shuttle is available to and from this establishment? We are getting dropped off at the San Jose airport on the 13th around 2pm by Ecoterra and have to find our way to our lodging. I want to explore the San Jose area lightly the last 2 days we are in the Country. Is this location is the best for our needs? My big concern is we don't speak Spanish and will need to get from the San Jose airport and back to the San Jose airport. If the owner of this Hotel is an American Expat, my guess is he could help arrange that for us. I saw some place where it was a $30 fee to shuttle to and from the airport. How does one arrange for it? Can you please help me figure this out? Thanks
