We stayed two nights - right at the end of our vacation. This is a funky hotel that was created from one or maybe two commercial buildings. The transformation into a hotel was managed wonderfully; there is an amazing lobby and entrance. Our room was modern, clean and

Great review. The hotel features three buildings. Two were always a hotel, since 1963. The third was a high end fashion boutique with casual and formal clothes - La Dama y El Caballero Elegante. Stores closed in the late 1990s and slowly the space has been added to the hotel operations. Many of the elements of the stores and spirit still live in the Hotel Presidente through the signage, furniture, art.

Stopped for one night only at the start of a Costa Rican holiday. An excellent in the centre of the city. Tastefully converted from a clothing factor with many of the original features adding to the pleasant ambience of the place. Also many artifacts from the old factory on

Great review, thank you. The old furniture and equipment is from the original clothing stores that were located on the street level and the second and third floors.

We had a good night at 'Presidente' which is set in a not so nice area of San José (are there any nice areas?). The hotel falls out in the area and is very modern and safe. The breakfast buffet has nice cold and warm options and you will have a fresh egg dish prepared at your

Thank you for your review. There are lovely areas of San Jose, including Barrio Amon, Barrio Escalante, and yes, the downtown area full of museums, plazas, parks and historic buildings. All walking distance from the Presidente. We will add information on the public transportation and train our front desk staff. The vast majority of our guests prefer to rent cars, fly within Costa Rica or take the private transportation options. I agree it would be beneficial to expand our information

We just stayed one night at Hotel Presidente with its interesting decor. The room was simple and older but completely clean and fine. We had excellent tapas and drinks in the rooftop bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is located in very interesting part

I stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has a stylish brick and teak lobby. The building's roots are in fashion and there are some great retro displays and touches throughout the hotel. This is definitely not your cookie-cutter hotel. Lots of

Hi Lisa, The best way will be to book our shuttle and we can bring you in. Just send us your flight info via our main email address and we will track your ETA and meet you in arrivals. The service is $35 + tax total including up to 6 passengers and luggage. That way you can relax and enjoy the sights. The service may be settled upon check-out. Another good option is to use the official airport taxis (the orange ones). They service is offered in a booth just after customs, before the exit to the street. All their drivers know the Hotel. These official taxis run on meters, so the fare will depend on traffic, but one can expect it to be between 10.000 and 20.000 colones, $18 - $35 US. Have a great flight and thank you for choosing us. Daniel
