A delightful hotel in a quiet side road of San Jose - full of character and old world charm. We stayed there for one night before heading off early in the morning to Tortuguero. There is a garden that, from what we could see in the dark, was like a mini rainforest. Our superior room on the ground floor was...

We had to spend a night in San Jose on our way to Osa Peninsula. The hotel was luxurious. Our room was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The bar and restaurant is outstanding. If I had to spend a night in San Jose again, I would stay here!

My only choice anytime in San JoseCertainly the best in San Jose, and a very good one in any standard. The Grano de Oro hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood, 40min. approximately from the airport (hope there will not be any traffic). It is beautifully decorated, with spacious and very indulging rooms. Bed are large and so pleasantly...

Expecting to stay just one night for a stop over in San Jose on our tour we found that we had two nights and we were very impressed with this fabulous establish hotel. This character build is a converted historical plantation house and has been magnificently restored and maintained. The dinning room and courtyard is exceptional, just like the service...

I travel to Costa Rica frequently and this is always my first stop. I usually don't stay in San Jose long - but I always stay at the Hotel Grano de Oro while I am there. The hotel's location in the heart of San Jose is what sets it apart. It has the character of an old, historic hotel but...

Oro de Grano is a boutique hotel that impressed us through its decor, exquisite restaurant and impeccable service. We stayed four nights on both ends of our Costa Rica vacation and got to enjoy two completely different rooms. Both were tastefully decorated and nicely furnished. We loved the old pictures throughout the halls that tell a bit of Costa Rica's...

So we went to this restaurant because it's one of my friends favorites one and we ordered and while we were drinking our glass of wine he told me happy birthday and just that so when we finished our main dish the waiter brought me this amazing house recipe birthday cake just because he listened my friend telling happy b-day...

We regretted that we spent only one night here--the night of our arrival in Costa Rica. This hotel made a beautiful first impression. The room (24) was very comfortable and lovely. Service was excellent. We had breakfast the next morning in the courtyard, which was excellent. The fruits were to die for. And this was an excellent introduction to how...

Boutique, old colonial style hotel with many rooms around courtyard areas about 20min walk from central San Jose. We used this as a stopover after/before flights and it works for that. Stylish and very photogenic with a lovely restaurant, small shop, no gym or pool but tiny rooftop area with jacuzzi. Avoid standard rooms which are cramped and with tiny...
