I usually travel to CR on vacation with my husband but this time I traveled alone for a short business trip. Casa de las Tias was the perfect location for me. Pilar and Xavier made me feel right at home and also made certain I was able to get to all of my meetings. I met so many interesting people...

When Pilar told us that she wanted Casa de las Tias to be a place where people enjoyed going to relax and hang out, just like her own tias' home in Colombia, she absolutely accomplished that goal. The home itself is cozy and quaint, beautifully maintained and decorated. The surrounding gardens are lush and the landscaping gorgeous. The location is...

Casa de las Tias is a little oasis from the the hustle and bustle of Escazu. Sitting on the front porch in the rocking chair enjoying the wide variety of flora of their garden provides a peaceful escape while also having access to the restaurants and downtown Escazu. Xavier and Pilar are welcoming host who immediately make you feel at...

My sister and I, with our husbands, visited another bucket list place, Costa Rica. We stayed three nights with Xavier and Pilar Vela at their Bed and Breakfast home in Escazu, near San Jose. Our hosts were both multi-lingual, former residents of the USA, and extremely friendly and helpful in arranging a bi-lingual driver to take us around the Central...

Not only this precious little lodge has the feeling and the ambiance of visiting your family. They treat you like that as well. The grounds are beautiful and colorful, a peaceful retreat for afternoon walks, meditation, or simply to admire the exuberant flora of the tropics. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed, just like in your Auntie's home. We...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de las Tias. The location is quiet and private, surrounded by beautiful gardens. We enjoyed the artwork throughout the interior, and especially spent time outside on the covered porch. Our room was charming and very comfortable with all the expected amenities, including access to a refrigerator on the second floor, stocked with drinks..The...

I stayed here two nights in June. Very quiet and secluded, even though it is only a short walk to a busy street. Nice balcony, with relaxing view. Very comfortable. But it might be difficult to find as it is tucked away, just off a major street.

My husband and I just spent three adventurous weeks in Costa Rica, starting at and returning back to, Casa de las Tias three times! Our hosts could not have been more gracious and helpful. It was our first trip to Central America and we had worried about our lack of Spanish and traveling to three or four remote jungle retreats/Eco...

We stayed here for 2 nights while I was on business and my partner had dental work done. For those having dental work this is in a perfect location as it is walking distance to a great dental clinic. My family visited Costa Rica for the first time and we were very fortunate enough to have selected Casa de las Tias as the first stop of our trip. I say that because it offers a charming, comfortable, and affordable setting owned and operated by gracious and generous innkeepers, Xavier and Pilar, whose hospitality is truly remarkable. Before we even...
