I had a wonderful stay at the Villas. Most of this was thanks to Jackey, who made me feel like a long-lost friend and not just a visitor. From her warm welcome at the airport, including a fresh 'ei, she gave a nice overview of the island on a slow drive to the Villas. This is basically a full island tour in itself. The villas themselves are works of art--hand built of local wood. Keep in mind that although beautiful, the accommodations are basic--no air con, just fans for example. There is a small kitchenette for preparing food, because there really isn't a restaurant on the island. But that is the charm of 'Atiu: it's a very natural island. Jackey also will cook dinner if you ask, and you can rent a scooter or car here as well. As a really nice bonus she had a bowl of fresh island fruit in the room. They also have a saltwater pool on the premises plus tennis court for a bit of refreshment. Still, it's more than enough for me to relax on the porch of the villa and watch the day go by. What a wonderful experience. Thank you, Jackey!

We stayed at Atiu Villas in Sept. 2019 We had a wonderful and memorable experience thanks, in big part,to Jacky. She met us at the airport, drove us around the area pointing out places of interest, suggested trips and tours, arranged meals and was happy to tackle any questions or concerns we might have had. The villas are very private which is wonderful for relaxing on the patio amongst the greenery. They are kept very clean and comfortable. There are food supplies and mosquito coils which you pay for as you use them which is a great idea. You can self-cater for dinner or have it cooked for you. We chose the latter and were very happy with the price and quality of the meals. We did the Birdman and cave tours, both are worthwhile. This is a lovely place to stay. We highly recommend it. Thank you Jacky!

This isn’t some 5 star swanky resort. It is however unique. A one off institution on an island that maybe hosts 50 visitors a week. The arts and crafts style villas are superb. The shower works. The rooms are kept clean. You can have some home cooked food made for you in the evening. There is a small kidney shaped pool just ideal for relaxing. The gardens you might compare to the hot house at Kew Gardens. The bird life on the island is remarkable and again very special. George and the guys should be more than proud for being able to deliver a cold beer or decent bottle of wine when they get a food boat maybe once a month to the island. Not for those who don’t appreciate the finer Erudite existence here. But easily one of the most memorable water holes on the planet. The beach down the road has to be top 5 in the world !! ... I haven’t seen the other 4. I have however been to the BVI and the barrier reef and the Pacific and Thailand and Borneo etc.. and SA. Urgh and Mexico. So it’s very good. David j

A beautiful resort and peaceful surroundings. The tours with Ben and George are a "must". Both were very informative and well conducted. Good footwear is required. The food supplied by the resort is "portioned2 for long stays. If you are only there for a few nights take what you eat for breakfast with you. It would be better if the resort management would cater for guests staying for 1 or 2 nights. The 2 course dinner in the evening is worth the 33NZD/person. The range of drinks available is very good

Back for the third time at Atiu Villas with a group of Uni students. We were treated like nobility. Our stay was longer than the usual for tourists, one week. So, the cooks were challenged providing us something new each evening at Kura's kitchen. The place is, as usual, quiet, immersed in greenery. I could do Yoga in the morning. Swimming after the activities. And have a rest. Atiu is so relaxed, so far away from the madding crowd. So full of surprises, from the makatea to the caves to swimming in caves, to swimming in pristine and healthy lagoons. Atiu is away from too much internet, the social media....Atiu is full of smiling people, Kia Oranas and they do not mind if you pick up a coconut or papaya. Atiu is the way life should be, with no anger, no lies, no worries. At Atiu Villas one is welcome. All is clean, all is a bit old,but so refreshing. So...Life. Internet is free...by the way
