Lovely host who picked me up at airport with gardenias but disappointed I wasn't told at time of booking that the pool was empty with green stuff floating around and looked like hadn't been in use for a while as this would definitely have changed my mind about staying there. It's also quite a distance from anywhere so transport a...

Peaceful Paradise!! Me and my husband were travelling to Aitutaki in October 2011. We had accommodation organized at Gina’s Garden Lodges..We absolutely loved the Lodges, it was the most peaceful place in Aitutaki. Nice and Quite location with swimming pool and a beautiful garden where you can pick tropical fruit yourself. . Right behind the Lodges there are really sweet...

In December 2011, I travelled to Aitutaki. This was my first time to Aitutaki; despite being of Cook Islands decendant. From when we were picked up to when we were dropped off to Gina's Garden Lodge; I felt like our host was quite rude. Firstly, on our way to the Lodge (from the airport) we were asking questions about the...

I was very sorry to see the review of my Gina’s Garden Lodges recently posted by Mem S. I met and greeted both these guests with traditional Gardenia eis at Aitutaki airport and brought them to my Garden Lodges at Tautu. I normally charge a fee of $NZ16 each for round trip airport transfers, but in their case as a...

In November of 2011 we took our 16th trip to the South Pacific and our 5th trip to the Cook Islands. This was our first time at Gina's Garden Lodges. We loved the kitchenette, as it helped keep our costs under control, especially when considering the high cost of restaurants on Aitutaki. Its screened windows were a benefit and kept...

We'd stayed on the beach in Rarotonga so didn't mind staying in land on Aitutaki. We were also looking for a cheap option so Gina's worked well for us. We had a car which is a must if you're staying here. Mrs Tutai Clarke - our host was very helpful both before we stayed, with informative emails, and during our...

The garden lodges are the right place to enjoy the tropical island 'away from it all'. The nicely landscaped property is 100m away from the next street. There are only four cottages on the property - surrounded by gerdens and bush. The owners did their best to help me with shopping groceries and renting a pushbike. This is the right...

The lodge was a lower cost option for our accommodation and we didn't expect too much. However we picked this place in particular because it was advertised with a clean pool and nice garden setting. On arrival we found the pool was green and some locals told us it had been this way for some months, and the garden was...

I stayed 3 nights in Ginas Garden Lodge in the middle of January 2010. This is my 2. stay, as I stayed here in February 2004. When I left then, I promised Tutai and Desmond Clarke that I will return, and I did! The lodge consist of 4 bungalows in a beautiful garden, with a swimming-pool. I had a rental...

Gina's Garden Lodges are surrounded by a beautiful garden and are within walking distance of a lovely semi-outdoor restaurant and local church. It provides a very peaceful setting, however, transport is required to access the beaches and main shopping area as the lodges are located inland. The lodges are basic and get a little warm, but there is a swimming...

We stayed at Gina’s Garden Lodges for 9 nights and absolutely recommend it. We were picked up at the airport by the owner Queen Tutai with wonderful leis. The queen is one of the three high chiefs on Aitutaki and one of the nicest persions we ever got to know. On the way to the Garden Lodge she showed us...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Gina’s has two properties on Aitutaki Island, Cook Islands. One - Gina's Garden Lodges, is on the main island, and is about 5 minutes walk from the Tautu landing, on the Eastern shores of Aitutaki lagoon. The second, beach side property is situated on one of the reef islands at Akaiami Island - 5 miles across the lagoon. This is Gina's Akaiami Beach Lodge. We are family friendly and welcome children of all ages. Both of these locales offer an environment that is special to Eastern Polynesia, and in their own way give reality to those Pacific dreams which travelers seek, and which cannot be found at Resort Hotels. ... more   less
