My wife and I stayed at the Blue Heron last week on a research trip to Prince of Wales Island. We'd booked two nights but due to aircraft issues, missed the ferry and had to cancel the first night. Regrettable because our suite was so comfortable we could have spent a week there. The beds are especially good. As a... More

This review is for the Bucareli Bay location. I traveled to Craig, Alaska for business and for the 2 nights I stayed on Prince of Wales Island, I called Blue Herron Inn, Bucareli Bay my home. I sincerely wish my stay on they island was longer so that I could take further advantage of this quaint B&B. The room was... More

The Blue Heron is a small cozy place with four rooms. The room was cozy with the basics including a very comfortable bed. There is no bathroom counter space and the shower stall is small, but nothing that was unpleasant. The breakfast part was instant oatmeal or cold cereal with a small bottle of milk, apple juice, a single container... More

We stayed in Room #5 on the ground level. The room was large, bright, and immaculately clean, and it was literally feet from the water so the view was great. It also had a private deck area on one side of the common deck. We noted in the guest log in the room that other previous guests who wrote a... More

The manager was very helpful with my last-minute changes. I stayed in the tiniest upstairs room. Very cozy, nothing fancy, but perfectly comfortable and just suited my needs with tiny galley for meals. I could hear voices in the adjacent room but it wasn't bad. Very good value and I would recommend!

Room 4 has a full kitchen, small living area, separate bedroom with cathedral ceilings, and a deck that looks out on the harbor. It is fabulous! As noted by another reviewer, the shower is exceptionally small. Especially in a small town, it is nice to have the ability to cook up your own grub, especially if you've been out in... More

We reserved one night here while we attended a meeting in Craig, however we ended up staying for 3 nights due to bad weather and canceled flights. Being 'weathered in' here was actually wonderful! This is a very cozy little B & B which sits on the small boat harbor in Craig. (We made our original reservation late and the... More

“At least one other room is pretty small, and the owner makes no bones about it. She is happy to discuss the accommodations with you, and I highly suggest you take advantage of that. For work parties it works out if the room 4 resident opens their kitchen for use by others in your group.”
