Accommodations in rural Alaska aren't the same as places on the main highway system and major cities. This hotel isn't much to look at from the outside (and even the hallways), but the small rooms had something cozy about them in the constantly-rainy weather. My upstairs room was bit warm, as the heating panel was still running (even with the... More

This hotel consists of 3 buildings. We stayed in the 2 story, older building. Although the first impression was of a run-down rooming house, we were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms were fresh and clean with newer carpet. The bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size, quiet and had an eating bar that included a fridge and... More

Was put into one of the rooms at the annex. Not a problem. Room was very large ... almost cavernous and because the was nothing to absorb sound ... it was noisy. While there was a kitchenette with a microwave and small fridge), there were no plates, silverware or paper towels, which was a problem, because I had not eaten... More

Ruth Anns has a great location in Craig, lovely view of the water and great deck outside the room. Room was nicely appointed and very clean. We could not imagine what more anyone could ask for the price, espescially in Prince of Wales Island. We will definitely stay here again.

Ruth Ann's is a pleasant hotel with a comfortable bed, hot water, cable TV, and available wireless internet (through a local ISP). As lodging off the road system in Alaska goes, this place is practically paradise. Some of the fixtures could use replacing, and the bath towels are comically small; the desk and chair in the room were chosen because... More

The honeymoon suite had a walk through double shower with a hot tub. The room was gorgeous, clean and inviting. It had a kitchen that had all the amneties. I could not have asked for a better place to spend the night. Of course to get this fabulous room you must book ahead for it. Yes Craig is small...yet it's... More

As was said in the 2005 review - there's not much choice in Craig. Outside of fishing and hunting season Craig is very small, not much goes on. Ruth Ann's restaurant has two sections, the grille and the upscale dining area. The difference is sandwiches versus meals. We definately enjoyed our meal - the halibut was excellant, and the water... Booked Ruth Ann's from the web. The picture on the web is of Ruth Ann's Restaurant a cute gingerbread style building right on the waterfront. We were disappointed to find our accommodations were not in that building, but a building a short walk down the street and not on the water. The building was nothing to look at, but the... More
