Lou can be very accomodating but beware he is very opinionated. He will tell you what he thinks whether or not you want to hear it. He did prepare and serve very good meals and was very good at getting our fish ready to transport. All in all, a good stay. He was having problems with his boiler and the...

Having never been to Alaska before I was overwhelmed by all of the websites for "Best Alaskan Fishing". It is very hard to find a place because websites can show or say anything. We booked with Capt Lou through George and the Funny Moose Lodge. I was initially sceptical because George's prices where significantly lower than pretty much everywhere else....

I stayed at Capt. Lou's the first year it opened. I simply loved my stay there. All my fishing trips were laid out on an itenary sheet. With the date,time and type of fishing I would be doing for the day. Capt Lou is a wealth of living fishing information. We would sit for hours talking about fishing experiences. The...

Ptarmigan Lodge is a brand new facility, run by a 15 year Alaskan Fishing Captain.. Captain Lou. The Lodge can hold up to 21 people, and Captain Lou is also a trained cook having owned a restaurant in New Hampshire. The Lodge is clean and comfortable, and Captain Lou is a great fountain of fishing information on the Kenai Peninsula....
