I had a great fishing experience at Funny Moose. The staff coordinates all the guides and all I had to do was catch fish. The cabins are clean and very comfortable with all the amenities of home. Location right on the Kenai River is perfect.

Stayed a week at the lodge in late August 2014. After doing considerable research on lodging in and around the Kenai river and Soldotna I came across the Funny moose lodge. Their prices were one half to a third of any other I found at any other lodge. Talked first with Jim and then George they were both very upfront... More

We enjoyed our stay, but ladies, this is a basic camp! Cabins can be cold-bring something warm for your feet when inside! Kitchen is adequate for cooking. Bedrooms can hold at least 4 people. You can walk to the river, but you must have a car to get supplies. If you are prepared, it's a great place to stay.

We received a great welcome and once again they gave us some fantastic trips which we will never forget .We were up graded to stay in Silver Budda Lodge and again they were very warm and welcomed... The camp facility review below. First trip to Alaska for Mike & me. We came to FISH! And that's exactly what we did. We arrived the night before and found the reason the majority of the lodges, resorts etc. are so expensive. We stayed at a Best Western in town nothing fancy except the price - $180 a night. A... First I would like to say my family and I very much enjoyed our week stay at the Funny Moose Lodge. Everything that was promised was delivered. Now the reference. The owner of The Funny Moose Lodge is George very business like, seldom seen, and straight forward gentleman hence Abbot. On the other side of the coin there was Jim,... More

My two Trinity High School friends and I had an excellent experience at the Funny Moose Lodge in Soldotna, AK this past August. Our host -Jim Dicken provided excellent service while we stayed at the Funny Moose for the week. The lodge was comfortable and Jim provided excellent advice and booked our guides. The fishing was great as we caught... More

Four of us had a great trip to the Kenai thanks to owner George and concierge Jim of Funny Moose Lodge. Funny Moose is a Not Fancy bunch of plain outfitted camps best for people who want to fish. Our camp had adequate room and kitchen, good bathroom with shower and "instant hot water' and mattresses that were 4-star hotel... More

August 10-17, 2013: This was my 3rd stay at George's place, but the first time where I could go with both of my sons (21,26) to just fish. Mom wouldn't like it - but it was fine with us. It gave them a chance to spend a lot of friendly fishing 'competition' time together (they live about 120 miles apart).... More

First of all, if you're looking for a resort vacation then look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a unique Alaskan experience at a good price look no further. Funny Moose Lodge is a fish camp. You have basic cottages, with kitchens, two bedrooms and small beds. But what the accommodations lack in luxury is overcome by the fun... More
