We arrived quite late after driving from Istanbul with stops at Gallipoli and Troy. We had dinner on the terrace right at the waters edge which was lovely though the scrounging cats were a bit of an annoyance. The room decor was nothing to write home about but the bathroom was quite nice. I recognize that different people have different preferences regarding beds but I found the bed in our rooom to be exceedingly hard and was not able to sleep well. I thought the breakfast the next morning was very good both as to quality and variety. We only stayed the one night so had no opportunity to enjoy the pool or explore the village. We did visit the temple of Athena on our way out of town and that was good.

We stayed here one night with my son and daughter-in-law who is Turkish. On the positive side, we enjoyed being in a hotel directly on the water. The stone building is impressive and the decor in the rooms and eating areas is very attractive. Since it was the end of the season, there were not too many guests. The typical breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very good. After breakfast we sunned on the deck and jumped off the deck into the sea - a real treat.

Some of the odd experiences:
After we moved into our rooms, we went up to the town for a meal. Upon our return, we were unable to get into our room as the card key lock was somehow nonfunctional. A staff member could not even open the door with a masterbkey and ultimately had to go through another room, walk across the roof of the deck and enter our room through the window in order to open the door from the inside! Luckily, there was another room free, in fact a bigger one. So we collected our things moved into the other room directly.

This room had two bathrooms. Nice, right? Hmm not so... In the first bathroom the toilet absolutely refused to flush no matter what we tried. The only option was to pour water down the toilet. I decided to take a shower in the other bathroom, which at least had a functioning toilet. That was fun...the shower head popped of the hose and squirted water all over the place. I tried to screw it back on, but the threading was broken and it was impossible. I fail to understand how the cleaning staff could have missed this problem.

Finally, I have to say that the bed and pillow were unfortunately very hard.

The location is just in the harbour. A very old stone building has an history and when you enter the hotle, you feel very well.
My room was a sea view penthouse, top floor. 2 sides, amazing sea view, very comfortable, spacious.
Coivid precautions were satisfying.
The stuff was nice.
Sea platform, swimming experience were excellent.
Thank you to all

The Kervansaray hotel in Assos is well known, right on the pier of Assos. I was a walk in client, stayed in the corner room of the building in the back. While the room was clean, it was not long before I realized it stunk of sewage. The bellboy said it was not used for a week, so we aired the room. After I came back from dinner, all the airing had helped, so I fell asleep slightly bothered but too tired to do anything about it. It was at 3 am when I awoke with a headache and an upset stomach; the bad odor was so bad that you could almost cut the stench in the room. I complained and the kind night guard helped me change my room at that time.
The next morning, when I complained to the receptionist Aykut and asked why he let me into that room which clearly had an issue with the stink from the bathroom.
I also said, they should consider a gesture discount of (around 12 dollars) to show goodwill. Instead, he acted as if I was a "cheapo" and denied any responsibility while charging full price on my credit card.
I'd say they have a long way to go on hygiene and customer relations.

The location is amazing, water is clear. But, the hotel management is not professional. They didn’t follow up the Covid pandemic rules of Ministry of Health. They said they are not going to book all rooms but it was %100 full. On the deck, there was a rude staff (the one with the jean short) that acting like not happy to work there. In addition, our book was half pension and turkish coffees suppose to be free. Finally, when we try to check out, they try to charge us someone elses alcoholic drink (around 300TRY). I believe the servers are not professional and try to rip of guests.

Hotels are extremely expensive in Assos. They do not have room rates displayed at front desks. Try Kadirga bay which is next to the Assos. It felt like Restaurants and Hotels are not regulated by government.

This is a charming looking hotel down on the sea front in the middle of the village. To reach it you are best to park your car at the top of the hill above the village and go down to the village in the hotel minibus – presumably they come and collect you if you phone. Our room was small and to one side of the hotel overlooking the pool. It came with aircon, telephone and everything one might need including wifi. There was no bath but a good shower, the water was hotter in the morning than the evening – presumably solar heated. The meze on offer in the evening was very good, the main course less so and more euro-bland than something typical of Turkey. Breakfast was a disappointment whereas lunch was very good. They are not very good at vegetarian food and try to offer omelettes or spaghetti bolognese rather than anything from the extensive range of Turkish non meat food. Our room was on the second floor and was reasonably cool during the heat of the day, friends on the top floor reported that their room was too hot and the aircon could not cope. There is little to do in the village other than eat, swim in the pool, rest and read (wonderful) so children might find it rather boring. In the height of summer, I suspect the place would be heaving and rather uncomfortable. Other than parts of the ground floor, the rest of the hotel is not disability friendly in any way, shape or form. We would willingly stay here again.

I went to this hotel out of season and it was a very relaxing experience.
The hotel was clean and confortable. The personnel is helpful and the restaurant serves very nice local dishes. The location is stunning, with a view on Lesbos.
Assos has been my favourite visit during my Turkish trip.

Nicest hotel building with the worst stuff..especially the manager...ı am 37 years old and until now I argued 3 times in hotels with the stuff in my life.....all 3 was with this manager...
He was so rude....If people ask something he was answering with full of hate and anger....
He hit the bellboy next to me because I said to little kid I would pay the coke later,He wanted cash even we stay in the hotel....
There were so many more things he did wrong but I dont want to mention.I dont want to be totally unfair....the hotel building was excellent.Next to the sea.Food was good. But believe me guys one man can ruin everything.....
fter 2 days stayed we changed to the next building called"Hotel Behram"...
I also wrote about that hotel...Before you book you should check that....You wont regret.....

Stay as a night stop during my Turkey road trip, and so did not expect anything much. Surprisingly, it was a good enough place to stay in this little town. There was free wi-fi with good enough signal. Room was a bit small but OK. Breakfast buffet was adequate. Dinner served as a la carte was OK too. Nothing fancy, but no fuss either.

What is the best way of getting to/from the airport?
Answer from cathmaddox
Hobart, Australia29 contributions13 helpful votes
Hi - I am not sure which airport you mean. We hired a car and drove from Istanbul - it involved a car ferry and about 5 hours of driving (I think) but was well worth it to have our own car as it made visiting the temple and greek ruins easy. The ferry ticket booking was very complicated however so check the threads on trip advisor for advice about that if you plan something similar. May be better to fly to Bodrum and travel up the coast - hiring a car there is very easy and low stress.
