We were welcomed very cordially. Employees were extremely careful about hygiene issues during the pandemic. Assos is a narrow strip and not very comfortable for cars. But when you arrive at the hotel, the employees will fix your parking needs immediately. The wifi was good. The breakfast was good enough.
The room was relatively small, the bathroom was quite narrow but thinking of the space in Assos in general, this can be forgiven.

We stayed here 2 nights, the rooms are really small and you cant fit in the shower unless you are super skinny. We stayed in the room ‘Helios’ (which I really do not recommend) and its in front of a terrace supposedly belonging to the guests of this room but everyone uses it. The problem is not that everyone uses it but that you can hear all conversations clearly and its EXTREMELY noisy. The hotel management does not limit the access to people coming and sitting there and therefore you have to warn them every time. Additionally, if you mistakenly leave the curtains open everyone sees inside the room.
The only good thing about the hotel is the service and the location.

I stayed there 13-14 August, room was on 2nd floor seaview. Price was 2200 TL/night.

The room was ok size, bed / sheets / pillows were clean and crisp. Bathroom was clean, A/C functioned very well. TV was in new condition. Wireless was working properly.

I didn't like the room being on the roof shaped, because windows are small and ceiling is taking the shape of the roof obviously. It has very small windows and no balcony, I'd prefer balcony. You cannot 100% call it seaview room when windows are that small.

The service was very friendly. The speed of service at the restaurant is unmatched. You order and it takes 25 seconds for your food, tea, coffee to come. They are literally running to serve you. I liked the tables by the marina.

Food prices are ok, breakfast was included. Staff was friendly. Location is very central in Assos, which is a small village anyways. I parked on the road uphill, it was very dusty due to construction.

You walk around the marina and there is a private pier for Behram Hotel, it has sunbeds, no towels though, you have to bring your own. There is a restaurant right next door, you can get very quick snacks, drinks, food etc to your sunbed.

Sea is crystal clear. There is no sandy beach you go down the stairs to the sea from the pier. Do not jump. Watch your feet when you use the stairs some sharp rocks.

Overall, good friendly cozy hotel, I'd stay again. It is adult only hotel, no noise whatsoever.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel very professionally but warmly run by the management. I spent two wonderful days at the harbor area of Assos at the beginning of February 2015 and thanks to this excellent hotel everything was just about perfect.

First of all I have special thanks to Ahmet and Can, who are very warm and friendly people at the hotel reception who really want to help everyone sincerely and nothing is too much of an effort for them. They are an asset to this hotel.

My room was a bit small but I was told that each room is different in size due to the fact that the hotel building is centuries old historic structure, considered a landmark. However the interior renovations have been very successful and every comfort of a guest has been thought about.

There is nice mirror, a desk a queen bed, good lighting, and lots of power outlets, modern door lock card system, wood paneling and doors, nice stone walls and floors, etc. all decorating the room. Each room out of the 17 rooms is named after a Greek God, and my room was called Athena (Room 101). You can see from the pics that it is a nice cozy room.

The bathroom is modern with all the outlets and hair driers, toiletries, etc. all adequately furnished. The water pressure is very good in the shower, however early morning you have to wait a couple of minutes for the hot water to warm up. There is a minibar in the room that has many popular pop drinks. The guest can get two free bottles of water at the bar every day. The heating worked very well in the winter and all the rooms are air conditioned for summer months. The flat screen TV of large size (for the room) has a lot of Turkish and a few English channels. There is free WiFi at the hotel rooms which is fast enough for any purpose.

The breakfast area is also the restaurant area for the hotel. It has an excellent wood burning fireplace for the winter months but most of all the breakfasts of this hotel are fabulous. There are more than 12 varieties of offerings from all kinds of cheese, meat, butter, jams, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, tahini, honey, 2 egg omelette, appetizers, nuts, figs, etc. They all come with very nice Turkish tea or Nescafe which are always refilled readily. You can book this hotel for its rich breakfasts alone. This restaurant faces the harbor and in good weather you can eat outside by the sea.

Assos is absolutely wonderful place to visit. It is the area that Aristoteles lived a good part of his life and did a lot of his teachings. So much history in this place. The stone building that used be a storage house for acorns in the last century has now become a modern hotel that is attractive in each and every way.

We had a pleasant 2 night stay at Hotel Behram. Our room, Zeus - 206, was very clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated with good quality material. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We got to meet and chat with the owner and observed that he’s proud of his business and puts much effort into honoring the original looks of the area. We also tried hotel’s restaurant which serves mainly seafood. Food was very good. Octopus salad was a favourite.

A few things to note about the hotel as well as the area:

- Rooms on the top floor may feel smaller (for taller people) in size as these rooms - being built in the attic part of the building - do not have the full height of the ceiling all through the room. Size of the room was not a set back for us.

- The ancient harbour hotels do not have parking lots immediately next to them. The road that leads to the harbour is used for parking. Nothing to worry, though. We drove straight to the hotel, and the gentleman at the reception took the car up the hill for parking and brought it back when we needed it again. We took the car out a few times. The staff was very helpful and quick with the parking.

- There are some other small number of accommodation options in the area. When it comes to swimming access, for us Behram Hotel stood out as the best option. It offers a private platform/patio over the rocks of the harbour to provide access for swimming. It was thrilling to swim around the ancient harbour through the ruins in crystal clear water with many fish swimming around us. A snorkel is a must! The hotel also offers a daily boat trip for its guests to nearby bays. This tour worked very well for us. We stopped at 2 locations and the excursion went from 11am to 3pm. Staff on the boat were very pleasant as well.

- Lastly, I highly recommend a visit to the ancient city ruins the main access to which is from the top of the hill at the Behramkale village. For those staying at the ancient harbour, there’s the option of catching a ride with the minibus service (dolmus) for a fare to Behramkale village to get to the ruins. The minibuses leave the ancient harbour stop once an hour at the top of each hour. Last minibus service is at 7pm. It’s worth noting that the entry to the site from the main gate is from 8 am to 7pm.

Arrived town yesterday with my husband, and checked this hotel where I stayed for a few times with friends in previous years. For some reason, although the hotel was (and as of today still is) completely empty, the front desk clerk showed us some dark and tiny rooms with almost no windows, claiming those were the only available ones. And overall attitude revealed that we were not wanted there?! We just left, without much clue on what happened. It has some nice rooms, though - they would probably accomodate you in one if they are on their "good mood", or if it is not Ramadan in Turkey, or if you pretend as a Turkish couple (just assuming as we have no idea on the reason of the behaviour...)

The hotel is very nice and clean, and is located in the very charming side of Assos village. We took the bus from Ayvacik, and just showed the driver our hotel address and got there without problem. Right next to the hotel was the small pier, where you can swim, eat or have a nice seaside walk. The only negative point is the size of our room and bathroom, which were a little too small, and we didn't even know where to put our towels. Other than that, nothing to complain. Overall we were satisfied with our stay and would recommend it to our friends.

Assos is an undiscovered gem - a historical well preserved Greek port, where Aristotle once lived and taught until the town’s capture by the Persians. The town is landlocked by the steep volcanic hills discouraging further development that is a real plus in construction craving Turkish economy. On top of the hill overlooking the town is the Temple of Athena.

Kudos to owners Cahit ve Hüsniye Tokoğlu for tastefully renovating this historical landmark to bring modern amenities while preserving its historical character. We had two rooms named after a Greek God - each a different size. Every room has a separate effective mini split for cooling. The bathroom was small feeling a bit cramped. There is a flat screen TV but there was only one English channel. Every floor has a separate Wi-Fi service.

We had breakfast and dinner at Behram Hotel during our stay. The breakfast is the typical village breakfast served with various cheese, jam, tomato, cucumber, fruits, nuts, omelet offerings with Turkish tea, that is a feast for your eyes. Since the hotel’s swimming dock was under construction, we went to the owner’s sister Hotel Barbarossa 15 minutes away in Kadirga. This hotel pays tribute to Ottoman Empire Admiral Barbaros Hayrettin with an assortment of museum quality original naval objects of interest. The beach at Hotel Barbarossa was outstanding reminding us of an island paradise while the lunches were superb with a variety of Turkish dishes and wines. Each night we returned to Hotel Behram for dinner. The seafood was outstanding with ample selections of Turkish wine and raki choices. The experience can best be described as having dinner on a docked boat at the pier.

The service was first class starting with the ever-present Manager Gizem Kurt and her smiling service staff both at Hotel Behram and Hotel Barbarossa. If you want to experience old-fashioned Turkish hospitality, Behram Hotel in Assos, or Hotel Barbarossa in Kadirga is your destination.
