Was here in 2014 came back, Enjoyed then and also now. Nice room, clean and quite. They had done some work on rooms sense we were there. They had a towel rack beside sink and plenty of places to hang your clothes. Had microwave, frig. Coffee pot & TV. I took pictures to share.

Yes the outside looks rough, but the rooms are very nice and clean. Bathroom has been remodeled and was great. The owners are long time residents of the area and are a great source of information. They go the extra step to make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable. Motel is in a nice quiet part of... More

Do not judge this place by the pictures posted online. This was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and the bathroom was newly renovated. It's run by a very nice couple that takes great care of the of the property. A++, Thanks Pam for taking the time to talk to us about the Northern lights.

Your first impression is "bates motel" but once in the room it was very nice. Reasonable for the area and season. Our bathroom had been newly remodeled, clean, and very comfortable. The only complaint was the squeaky springs which just made it a bit fun (snicker snicker). Would stay there again. Honest small business at its best. Thank you for... More

Yes looks deceive from first impression as this is an older motel with bar/ lounge. However if you stay there you will find what all travelers especially fisherman look for: nice linens, lots of hot water, spotless room, nicely remodeled bathroom, great mattress and the most important attribute is a manger (PAM) and staff who look for ways to make... Comfortable room, not fancy, but nice. Staff very attentive but respectful of our privacy. A good location, midway between Anchorage and Denali National Park. Good places to eat in town, within walking distance, as well as vendors for various excursions in this area.

This is true Alaska. There aren't a lot of options when staying in Talkeetna. All the highest rated places were booked. I came across the Talkeetna Motel and booked a room. It's not too pretty from the outside but I felt adventurous and didn't need glitz and glam in Alaska this vacation. The lady inside the bar was super friendly,... More

Nice room , conformable beds, Quite away from noise. You do have to check in at the bar ,but when we arrived there was no one in the bar. Also the room was clean and had all the things you need, T.v. coffee maker and frig. Would stay again if in the area.

Three stars because it is nothing special, but this is Talkeetna, Alaska; we were not there to lounge in a hotel. Would definitely stay here again if we are back. Certainly not much to look at when you drive up, but the room was adequately roomy and clean with a good collection of informational materials on the desk and the... More

Ok, Maybe not exactly a gem, but definitely worth a second look. You do have to check in at the bar which is probably the only thing I did not like about the place-only because I cannot handle smoke smell, but the owners and the staff are very friendly. The rooms do look deceiving on the outside, but once inside... More
