We love this hotel because well managed, quiet (peaceful), traditional architecture, very good food, kind personal. We came more than 10 times (once a year!) Note that there is a very good diving center very close which is not too expensive with possibility to reach by boat many fantastic dive sites in the middle of the very well protected park There is also a windsurf club : good equipment... We were lucky because enough wind to have fun this year (OCTOBER) We plan to come back in MAY 2023...

We had a wonderful week at this hotel. I did have some reservations before booking, due to some negative comments, but I'm so glad I did. The staff were all professional, friendly and unobtrusive. The reception, cleaning, gardening, drink distribution and reef protection all very well managed. The gardens were beautiful, lots of flowers and birds. The reef was extensive and amazing, accessible from the beach and jetty, coral and fish very colourful and several turtles on the sea grass. The superior room was good - new mattresses, new white towels, hot shower, hairdryer, mini fridge. The dining room was lovely and well managed. The food, though less variety than other hotels we've stayed in, we felt was better quality. Good coffee at beach and pool bar and cold drink dispensers, including water at all bars. Yes, some things need updating (bed bases and beds on beach), but we noted updating in progress and nothing affected us. This is a small and compact hotel, very quiet, no animation or loud music, which suits us well. Wi fi is chargeable and intermittent, but we managed fine. There was fairly strong wind for 2 days, which is normal on this coast and we couldn't snorkel, but could still swim. There is an unheated pool, which is welcome in the heat. Very serviceminded staff. Lovely all inclusive buffet also with very friendly and smiling staff. We loved, that the coral reef was just outside at the beach and easy snorkeling and diving by the hotel. We loved our holliday at shams alam beach resort.

For the second time we stay on Shams Alam, first time was in 2018. The place is always perfect for what I love more in a village: friendly staff, great food, amazing reef for snorkelling, not too much people. What can be improve are: the beach bed are old and heavy, but beach boys are always kind and helps more than expectation. The linen are quite old and deserved to be replaced, but still clean. The Room need a refresh, some part are damaged by sun/humidity, but staff do a great job cleaning it. As italian I want kindly ask to management to rescheduling the Expresso Coffee availability immediately at morning. This will be a added value. Cappuccino was missed at breakfast :) And please considering to shifting the clock forward 1-2 hours to have more light.

Great location with great reef. Compared to our last visit even the food and the offer of the drinks was slightly improved. The staff was very friendly as always. Big minus are the towel-guys and the situation on the beach in general. I will suggest the hotel manager to go on the beach in the early morning. He will see, that many guests block umbrellas with various towels and bags overnight. On top of that, towel-stuff is from early morning arranging the sunbeds for some “friends”. However, these friends are still sleeping and you won't see them on the beach. So when you come to the beach with the kids after breakfast, almost everywhere will be occupied, but almost without guests. So I recommend the manager to have all "reservation" items taken away in the evening and in the morning to prepare sunbeds for people who actually come to the beach. I understand that the staff are trying to make money on tips, but they shouldn't be doing it at the expense of other guests. It spoils the name of the rest of the staff.…

I can highly recommend this Hotel! The place is beautiful and quiet, perfect for relaxing and enjoying Egypt and it’s beautiful weather. It is our 3rd time here in this hotel and the standard is incomparable. The staff is super nice and friendly. Everyone is doing their best to make the guest feel safe and sound. The hotel is clean, the food is just perfect. This will be the only hotel we will stay at when in Egypt.

I ve been to shams alam resort with group of friends We arrived at 9::00 am but the first impression was extremely bad they refused for early check in although avabitlty till 12:am noon In 3 hours we received our rooms the room was old and the AC was damaged But in the restaurant things was different food was delicious I give 55* the the restaurant I met the restaurant manager the welcome us with all the staff later we met the hotel manager who was kind with us and fix the AC and gave us extra care in the restaurant The house reef is magnificent one of the best in marsa alam

I had wonderful time at Shams Alam, the resort is beautiful and not too big so it’s easy to get around. I obtained my Open Water Certificate at the Wadi el Gimal diving center. The crew was a joy to be around and helpful from beginning to end. The reefs are stunning and colorful, you’ll find turtles, many tropical fishes and if you’re lucky like me, even sea cows! I also definitely recommend doing a desert safari with M.O safari, a private company located at the resort. Usama is a great guide who knows the nearby national park, Wadi el Gimal, like the back of his hand! We took quads through the desert to see the sunset and went for a camel ride at a Bedouin Camp in the desert. We drove back under the starry night sky to the resort. A truly adventurous and magical experience!
