When we visit Johannesburg we always stay in this beautiful guest hose with lush garden and the most helpful and friendly hosts. The rooms are very well appointed and there is nothing you can think of that is not available. The rooms can be used as self catering units but there are also very nice restaurants just a couple a minutes away from the guest house. This place is highly recommended for a stay in Johannesburg in a safe urban area.

I travel a lot for work and stay all over, Remote Corner is one of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed it. Beautiful setting, lovely rooms, crisp, clean white linen and perfect breakfast. As it is also a simple self catering service, everything has been thought of. I’d even come here just to relax in the exquisite garden!

Stayed for one night for a work trip. We use this place often for work and it is the first choice. Little touches make it ideal with slippers, bath robe and the first guest house I've been to that gives actual milk and filter coffee!

We recently spent 3 nights at Remote Corner and had a wonderful time. It is really tranquil with lots of nooks and crannies in the garden perfect for a quiet read. The rooms are clean and the beds have crisp, clean sheets to slide between after a hard day. I loved the breakfast with its fresh fruit. Thank you Daryl and Helen for an amazing stay.

Truly a hidden gem! I usually stay in a hotel near the university but at the recommendation of a friend, tried the B & B. I am so glad that I did as it is a gorgeous gem of a place. I am not sure what room I stayed in but it had everything one could need including a small kitchenette. I tend to read in the evening and too often have found the bedside lamps to be inadequate but that was not the case here. The bed was so comfortable and warm that it was difficult to get up and go to work. Breakfast, served overlooking the fabulous garden, was delicious every morning. Darryl and Helen were attentive to every detail and I enjoyed getting some gardening and shopping tips. Remote Corner is a peaceful, relaxing, welcoming oasis in a busy city. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

What a surprise finding this quaint and gorgeous b&b in the heart of the Johannesburg Parks area. We stayed in the Granary Cottage which was an absolute delight, spacious, comfortable and beautifully finished. The garden is lush and beautiful and the various cottages are gracefully tucked away amongst the foliage. The breakfast was delicious and eating out on the patio overlooking the gardens was another delight! Thank you to our hosts, Helen and Daryl for making us so welcome and for the special touches that make it a home away from home. We look forward to our next visit.

Our first stay with Helen and Daryl was in 2015 where we attended an Astronomy expo and was purely by chance. We stayed in the coziest room with a modern twist with everything we could possibly need. The next morning we were spoilt with the most delicious breakfast. When it came to having to find accommodation for the expo two years later, there was no question as to where we would stay. The second stay there, met the expectation of the previous visit and surpassed it. We stayed in the Rose Cottage this time. It was clean and homey not to mention the beds are so comfortable! It was peaceful and relaxing, despite being situated in a city such as Johannesburg. It had reminded me somewhat of The Secret Garden, being this wonderful little hidden treasure. Once again we enjoyed breakfast overlooking the beautiful garden and had the great company of the owners. I highly recommend Remote Corner to anyone and look forward to our stay there in 2018.
