This is the perfect weekend escape. It is relatively close to both Johannesburg and Pretoria, but still very rural. It is a small hotel in a nature conservancy, built like an oriental palace. Very "fake", but it is done with such attention to detail that it becomes charming. We had a large and very comfortable room with a private patio....

We stayed one night at the hotel for my husband's birthday. From the minute you enter the property you feel as if you are in another world in another time. The gardens are lush, the Moorish architecture of the hotel is beautiful, the décor is lavish. And the food is just incredible!!! I can honestly say that this is the...

We went for dinner and stayed over. What an incredible experience- the rooms are just exquisite. Like an Indian Palace - and Chantal's food - just incredible how talented this lady is. What a privilege. The wine collection is surely one of the best in SA- not much more I can say. This was a 6 star stay

Stayed over in a beautiful room and ate the most fantastic 9 course meal with wine pairing. The room had a balcony with a view of the gardens, breakfast the following morning was superb. All round a great experience.

On arrival at the main gate to the Conservatory, Jambulani greets you with a big smile and enthusiasm and your already feel that you are welcome here. The drive up to the picturesque boutique hotel is filled with lush trees, zebra, buck and big palm trees greet you at the main gate - it felt like we arrived in Marrakesh!...

I honestly cannot sing the praises of this hotel high enough. It was a simply amazing experience from start to finish and my only regret is that I didn't stay here for more than one night. We were looking for a very nice hotel to celebrate our anniversary while travelling in the area and opted for The Orient. The hotel...

I don't say this lightly, but my dinner at Mosaic at The Orient was the best meal of my life. The hotel is truly luxurious, with every detail excellently curated and managed. From the moment of arrival, everyone knows your name; there is no check-in desk and guests are escorted directly to their room. The Orient is set on a...

The Orient isn't the kind of hotel you'd think to find in Pretoria. It's not a game lodge, nor is it a Cape-Dutch style hotel. In fact, it's oriental and exotic and gorgeous. The hotel is set in a reserve and looks like a small castle. All the rooms and restaurant feature antiques from the owners travels around Asia. Even...
