We had one night in Durban as we were going to watch the Rugby. Botany Bay Lodge is perfectly situated for access around Durban and the Botanical gardens and was perfect for what we wanted. The owner, Stacy, was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift to musgrave.

I phoned to enquire after availability in February. I was told to write an email and neither of the two staff members was willing to sms me the email address or take my email address down in order to establish written contact. I was told 'why should she bother to contact me if it was me who needed a room....

Firstly, let's set the record straight. This lady has not stayed at our guest house and she was so blantently rude on the phone. We would not want a woman with such a bad attitude stay at our guesthouse.

Perfectly situated for my conference today at the Botanical Gardens, it is neat, clean and very comfortable. Friendly welcome and a great business stay. Comes highly recommend on any visit to Durban. Room was more than adequate and well priced for a stop over

Situated in the nice suburb of Berea, Botany Bay Lodge is just across the street from the Durban Botanical Gardens, arguably one of Africa's oldest botanical gardens. The place is very comfortable and the rooms have enough closet space for those travelers who will stay a while. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom/shower is very functional and exceptionally clean....

Botany Bay Lodge was our home away from home for several days following the Comrades Marathon. We felt safe and comfortable at the lodge the entire duration of our stay (it's a gated home with security cameras and two guard dogs). The hosts, Stacy and Wayne, have now become our new friends. They were so accommodating with helping to reserve...

The location of the Botany Bay Lodge in Berea is very good, right next to the Botanical garden. The rooms are large and comfortable. The decor of the house and around the pool looks a bit worn. The Maid is very nice and helpful and she makes a fantastic breakfast! Would directly have taken her with me. The owner is...

We had a great experience staying at Botany Bay Lodge in Room 2 over the nights of 19 and 20 July 2013. Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the layout and tasteful informality of the Lodge as a whole. It is very conveniently situated for exploring Durban and its attractions. The kitchen is fully equipped and...

I stayed here for 3 nights in December 2012. Overall, the stay was comfortable, but it's the service that is missing in this place. I felt like I was more in a self catering lodge than a bed and breakfast place - for example, no staff was available when I arrived, rather I received instructions on phone on how to...

Thank you for your review. Apologies for the impression that service was lacking. We do provide breakfast order forms, which are left in the rooms for guests to fill out. This allows us to serve breakfast at the guests' convenience. These were, however, not filled out by this guest so, yes, we did have to wait for the guest to...

We stayed at the Botany Bay Lodge for two months (August/September) and it really was like a "home" for us. It's a small but very nice place just opposite the entrance of the Botanic Gardens, very green. The rooms are big and nicely decorated, with nice and clean bathrooms, and the pool area is beautiful, a nice place to relax!...
