Nothing fancy about this place. The check-in staff were so swamped when we checked in, it must have taken an hour before we were assigned rooms. They had no reservation, then they had no rooms, then they didn't know which rooms. It was a mess but eventually it got fixed. Rooms were fine and basic. At least it was clean....

Clean. It's Marriott. It's protea. It's supposed to be waterfront. No gym. Great neighbourhoods for roadworks. Patchy internet, why is Marriott hotel having dodgy internet. Breakfast is not bad though I must say. Wine list is below expectations.

We arrived at the hotel and requested a venue for a meeting with 3 people. The staff were very accommodating and professional. They set up a room very quickly and served us promptly with tea and then came and took a lunch order. For a last minute request, we were very appreciative and pleased with the manner in which we...

My first visit to this hotel was in July on business and I was very impressed and I immediately booked a night to celebrate my birthday in October. My wife was equally impressed and we had time our of life. We wished we could have stayed longer. This hotel's architectural and structural design blew me away the first time and...

We wanted to book a table for our wedding anniversary on Saturday night. Went there on Thursday late morning. One female restaurant manager took the booking as we asked to bring our own vintage champagne as that is traditional part of our wedding anniversary! She said the hotel has a no corkage policy but she would call us on Friday...

Rooms good, food good but the staff are amazing. Who ever trains them needs a pat on the back. I have never met such friendly, helpful staff. A credit to the hotel and Richards bay. A few negatives why do the house keeping have to collect the towels before 8am (?), there is no kiddies menu and the wi fi...

Classy, stylish, and expensive. The restaurant is good, the lobby is tastefully decorated, breakfast has a good variety but the closed dishes are not marked, making it difficult for halaal food as I don't want to touch the pork mistakenly. They made us a separate omelette in the back to accommodate though. The room is lovely and big, decorated with...

A decent hotel with good service overall but some disappointing elements . Negatives : The housekeeping team are extremely noisy and from early in the morning can be heard shouting to one another instead of talking like normal people do. The aircon in the room was not working They do not supply facecloths in standard rooms, which is poor. Extremely...

Spent one night this week @ this hotel on business, and was impressed with this rather good hotel which is in a very good location on the harbor and close to restaurants. The only downside was the rather unhelpful staff, which I found somewhat unusual for this area.
